Property Description

Granary Cottage is an annexe built adjoining the owner’s 18th century stone barn conversion. It has been finished to a good standard, providing an ideal holiday retreat with a roll top bath and electric coal effect fire for those cosy winter evenings. Set in the hamlet of Nottington, between Dorchester and Weymouth, it is surrounded by the unspoilt Dorset coastline and countryside. Bustling Weymouth is a short drive away with shops, restaurants and sandy beach and a little further are Portland, Chesil, Abbotsbury, Bridport, Lyme Regis and Isle of Purbeck. Shop and pub 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living room with French doors/dining area/kitchen. Utility room (owner has own access). First floor: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with roll-top bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Electric woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine and tumble dryer in shared utility. Shared use of owner’s freezer on request. Large shared garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (1 car). No smoking. NB: Drop to stream in garden.

  1. Very cosy and welcoming cottage and owner. In the country, but near to everything, brilliant place to stay. ’The Heritage’ restaurant is a must for a lovely relaxed friendly and excellent meal. The only reason we would not return is because we don’t like to spoil our wonderful memories! Aug 2011.

  8. The location was idyllic. There were walks along the River Wey that were literally at the cottage doorstep. It was a convenient location to everything in the Dorchester/Weymouth area and along the south coast (now known as Jurassic coast). The bathroom was lovely and the bed most comfortable. After a day out we could return to a warm and cosy fireplace. We spent two weeks there and plan on returning next year. Oct 2009.

  13. The Smugglers Inn, good food and lovely setting, walk from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door (very steep but view made it so worth the effort) . Easy access to Weymouth,would have liked more info re facilities, e.g supermarket, garage, places to eat etc. July 2009.
