Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A fantastic stay in what feels like a hidden gem in Galway. Completely isolated house down a private track allows you to enjoy your holiday in peace and quiet. The house is finished to a fantastic standard and is comfortable and welcoming- just keep an eye on the oil fired central heating if you’re going in the winter months- it racks up really quickly! The views are just stunning from the house alone. We spent our time driving the roads around the national park, as well as visiting the closest towns for days out- these are picturesque and have nice independent shops to look round. Touring round the coast near Clifden was a highlight- stunning scenery and beaches to look at! The drive to Westport was just as impressive. All in all, we didn’t want to go home! Highly recommended if you want to get away from it all. Nov 2012.
  2. Cottage comfortable and cosy and in a great location. Sept 2012.
  3. A superb location for a couple to disconnect from the busy everyday world and focus on each other. Don’t expect any mobile phone service, but do expect peace and quiet, beautiful scenery, a comfy home and a lakefront just outside the gate. May 2012.
  4. Cosy fabulously isolated stunning surroundings but still close to all amenities and the dogs had a wonderful time. Sept 2011.
  5. A stunning location, very quiet, huge enclosed garden for the dogs. Furnished to a high standard, highly recommended. June 2011.
  6. The property is very private and the garden is fenced so you can let your pets wander about at their leisure without worrying they will run away or annoy the sheep. Lots of lovely walks around. Kylemore Abbey is very close and well worth a visit! Nov 2010.
  7. Location. Sept 2010.
  8. Spacious, well equipped. May 2010.
  9. The cottage was in the most beautiful location surrounded by hills and right on the lake. The cottage had everything we needed for our holiday and even the company of sheep and horses which wandered the hills outside. It was quiet and secluded but within driving distance of various tourist attractions. April 2010.
  10. Location was briliant very private. Very comfortable cottage and very modern inside. Sept 2009.
  11. The cottage was picturesque, clean, tidy and cosy and just lovely! It was surrounded by beautiful scenery and each window was a picture. June 2009.
  12. Plenty of open spaces to explore, good fishing on our doorstep litterly. A big open hearth fire in the sitting room. Aug 2009.
  13. Gortrushen House was the perfect cosy get away surrounded by breathtaking scenery. It was clean, tidy, well decorated, homely and had everything we required. Kylemore abbey was just across the road and although the cottage felt as though it was miles from any civilization the local village was only a short drive away. We found it hard to bring ourselves out the lovely cottage and will definitely be revisiting. June 2009.
  14. Absolutely divine! So peaceful & our dog thought she was in heaven. April 2009.
  15. Cosy cottage in an idyllic setting. Jan 2008.
  16. Anyone looking for peace and tranquility you know what to do and where to go. Sept 2007.
  17. The conversion of this old cottage has been done to a very high standard and provided a most attractive and comfortable base. Sept 2007.
