Situated in a peaceful village, this charming spacious cottage was built in the mid 1850s and has been refurbished to a high standard. Standing detached, it boasts a spacious living/dining room and a light airy reading room with French doors leading out to the garden and countryside beyond. The garden offers two seating areas, one close to the house, ideal for al fresco dining, and one at the end of the garden which looks out onto the countryside beyond. Situated close to the Camel Trail, ideal for walking, horse riding and cycling. Also close to Bodmin Moor and the north and south coastal resorts of Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Charlestown and Looe. Shop 2 miles, pub 1½ miles.

  1. The cottage is conveniently situated near the Camel Valley Trail which offers good flat walking and biking for 17 miles. Near the Trail is the Camel Valley Vineyard (visit recommended) and the Bodmin Steam Railway. Good eating can be had at The Borough Arms, Dunsmere, Bodmin jail ( and the jail tour is well worth a trip) and The Glasshouse (Wadebridge). June 2012.

  3. A lovely cottage with a lot of luxury and comfort. This was ’home away’! July 2011.
  4. The cottage was very tastefully furnished and had lots of character. Well equipped kitchen. It is very well positioned for travelling to both coasts. Only negative comment is that the grass in the garden was long and meant the family couldn’t really play any ball games on it (we enjoy playing boule on holiday). Other people have commented on this in the visitor’s book. Shame it couldn’t be cut on a more regular basis. July 2011.
  5. Good family room and the summer room helped provide a dedicated areas for the children to play in. Would have been nice to use the garden but the grass was very long and as it rained a few days the grass never dried out. Nice house, warm and cosy. Good kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom. We really enjoyed the stay. Aug 2010.
  6. Without doubt, this is one of the most beautiful and well equipped property in which we have ever stayed. A perfect location for exploring Cornwall, this property has been tastefully decorated and is in beautiful condition. After staying at many properties with many agents,we can honestly say there is not one thing we can even think about moaning or complaining about. Fantastic holiday in a fantastic place. Sept 2009.

  13. The property is in a quiet village in a farming community. The ideal location for a stress free holiday. Centrally located near Bodmin, it provided the ideal base for access to north and south Cornwall. The property itself is well maintained with a tidy, well kept garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to the next time we book this particular cottage. Sept 2008.

  16. A comfortable, charming and well-equipped cottage - perfectly tranquil but with excellent access to all the attractions of this lovely corner of Cornwall. We really appreciated the quality of the furnishings and the attention to detail in the equipment provided. We were lucky with the weather but felt confident we could have entertained ourself very happily at Goldbank Cottage even if it had poured with rain! July 2007.
