Property Description

This delightful, timber frame, black-and-white, thatched property (built 1420) is a fine example of a ‘cruck’ cottage, one of the earliest forms of English domestic architecture. Detached, it has a large garden with views over ancient fields and meadows. It is set along the main road to the village of Callow End (200 yards) which has a village shop, two excellent pubs and lovely walks. Within a short drive are the beautiful Malvern Hills, Great Malvern and Worcester with its fine cathedral, shops, excellent restaurants. Shops 100 yards.

Steep stairs to first floor: One step down from landing to double bedroom with 5ft bed and small built-in wardrobe. Twin bedroom, with two steps down to second landing and second staircase. Single bedroom with wash basin and one step down to landing with built-in wardrobe. Beamed bathroom with shower attachment and toilet.

  2. Glebe Cottage is a most welcoming and cosy cottage surrounded by a lovely garden. It is very old and may not have all the modern elements found in some properties but it is warm, cosy and invites you to relax and feel at home. Worcester, Malvern and Upton are easliy accessed with walks in the Malvern Hills only minutes away. There is a handy village shop, however there is a very useful shopping/retail park nearby with a large Morrisons, M and S and Next. Sept 2012.
  3. A beautiful location with easy access to amenities and local places of interest. Very cosy for evenings in and good facilities. Would certainly return. June 2012.

  6. We fell in love with this area and with this property. More importantly, we fell in love with the people of the community. Our walking distance pub, The Old Bush, was so much fun. The "pubbies" took us in and watched over us, helping us in so many ways. The cottage location was central for many important attractions. I know I will always smile when I think back to that little thatched roof cottage that we called home for a very short while. March 2011.

  9. If you want a taste of what it was like living hundreds of years ago then this is the place for you, naturally with mod cons now! However you still get a strong sense of nostalgia, the timber beams, the stairs, the nooks and crannies of the bedrooms ~ and the master bedroom is full of character and it is a huge room! Lovely warm, cosy lounge. I spent heaps of time just wandering around the very large garden, it must be over 1/3 acre and you can walk all the way around the house. A delightful find!! Sept 2010.

  12. I really liked that the feel was of staying in the house of a friend - how lovely to find half a bag of rice and pasta - and to feel that the frozen peas we left wouldn’t be taken or thrown away to leave the house ’sanitised’ for the next guests. Aug 2010.
