Property Description

Glebe Cottage nestles close to the village church, in the heart of unspoilt Blockley, one of the larger of the Cotswold villages and once a major centre for the silk industry. Formerly part of the adjacent Cotswold vicarage, set midway between Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden, it has been completely modernised and converted into a very comfortable and well-equipped holiday cottage and provides a wonderful retreat from which to explore this lovely area – Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham, Broadway and Stow-on-the-Wold are all within easy reach, whilst back in the village there are two good pubs serving food, village store and post office, delicatessen as well as pleasant walks amid the Dovedale Woods. Shop/P.O. 50 yards.

Beamed living room with gas woodburner in Cotswold stone fireplace and French doors to garden. Modern fitted kitchen with breakfast area. Double bedroom with 5ft bed, vaulted beamed ceiling and en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A wonderfully welcoming cottage, had everything we needed. Beautiful location, very quiet - owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome including leaving milk in the fridge and yummy chocolate cake!! would definitely stay here again. Oct 2012.
  2. The building is quaint and has been thoughtfully converted with old timbers mixed with modern fittings to give a comfortable house. Some of the furniture and fittings are beginning to show their age although this would not deter me from returning. The small patio is very private due to the surrounding walls. If taking a car, be prepared to park it a short distance from the house as parking outside is very competitive. This was the source of much sport during my two-week stay! The cleaning and preparation of the house was excellent and milk, tea and flowers were most welcoming. Aug 2011.
  3. Great property, lovely position, beautiful village. May 2011.
  4. Liked the fact that it had good heating (needed at this time of year) kind of the owner to provide the telephone and honesty box, really helpful as mobile signal not available in cottage. Like the Wi-fi connection, really useful. Liked the open plan space in the rooms and in summer the outside space would be lovely. Liked the variety of channels on TV. Jan 2011.
  5. Worth every one of its five stars. June 2010.
  6. The cottage was perfect for a couple (with a young baby, in our case). The property was well-equipped, and also had Sky and Wifi internet. Blockley village was beautiful, and very tranquil. All in all, a fantastic little place. June 2010.
  7. Small lovely peaceful village and a beautiful cottage. Feb 2010.
  8. Cosy and comfortable cottage for a couple at heart of excellent Cotswolds village. Dec 2009.
  9. It was warm cosy and inviting, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Dec 2009.
  10. The cottage had a lot of character and was in a very good position in the village. The rooms were a good size and comfortable. Lovely big bed. Sept 2009.
  11. Lovely cosy character filled cottage. Aug 2009.
  12. A lovely property for a couple who don’t mind stairs. Quiet location and friendly people in the village. The property was well presented and clean. There was a welcome surpise of a cake, milk and flowers. July 2009.
  13. Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous setting. Feb 2009.
  14. The perfect "chocolate box" one bedroom cottage. Jan 2009.
  15. The accommodation was of much higher quality then we anticipated. It was clean, well stocked and the owner contacted us after arrival to check we were settled and to find out if he could do anything to help. Jan 2009.
