This delightful Victorian home was formerly part of the coach house belonging to Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday abode. One of a pair, it has a large, attractive, enclosed garden backing directly onto the glorious grounds and gardens of this beautiful stately home. Gillies Cottage has been tastefully and comfortably furnished throughout. East Cowes, the only Red Funnel Island car ferry link to the mainland is within walking distance, with shopping centre, marina, seafront, promenade, and foot/car chain ferry over to the bustling sailing town of West Cowes, with boutiques, gift shops, restaurants and inns. Shops ½ mile, pub 150 yards.

  1. Hotel almost next door, served excellent food if you wanted a treat. Osbourne House not open in the winter. Waitrose, down the road was a Gogsend! Nov 2011.

  11. The cottage was very comfortable with an excellent mature garden that in summer would be lovely. Our dog really enjoyed this.There is plenty of space for cleaning dirty paws before entering the kitchen. The walk to the ferry and shops is Ok going down but a rather steep climb back, if you have problems walking that is. March 2009.
