In a lovely peaceful setting by the owners’ manor house, this beautifully restored 1850s house enjoys use of the extensive estate grounds and woodlands. The holiday accommodation is spacious and comfortable, boasting a restored stone fireplace in the living room, while outside is a private terrace, shared garden and heated swimming pool. Nearby is the village of St Christophe sur le Nais, with original paintings to be seen in its old church, and just half an hour away is the chateau and park of Grand Luce. Also within easy reach are the historic city of Tours, and Le Mans with its cathedral and car museum at the famous race circuit. Close by are the Loire valley wine growing regions, where producers are happy to welcome visitors.

It was a great place for relaxing, close to a good bakery and supermarket (5/10 mins drive to both). Some lovely places to visit within about an hours drive. All in all a great spot. July 2010.
