Property Description

Garden House, a delightful studio bungalow, is an ideal holiday retreat for couples to explore this superb part of Hampshire. Enjoying a peaceful setting approached within beautiful gardens, it is set 30 metres from the owners’ home, who is a garden designer. Decorations are also supplied for Christmas bookings. Situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park within a 2-minute walk of a large footpath network leading to the breathtaking views of Butser Hill, Queen Elizabeth Country Park and Windmill Hill. Historic places of interest within easy reach include Winchester, Chichester with its cathedral and Portsmouth with its historic naval ships and Spinnaker Tower. Various beaches and marinas can be reached in just over 15 minutes’ drive. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen/bedroom area with double bed. Shower room with toilet.

Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen, towels included. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Wi-fi. Shared garden, sitting-out area. Parking (1 car). No smoking. Friday to Friday. No children. NB: Pond in garden.

  5. The Garden House was a delight to stay in. We were looking for a quiet romantic break in beautiful surroundings & that is exactly what we got. The house is small but perfectly well equipped with everything you need. The house is very clean. We arrived after dark to find the lamps & fairy lights had already been put on for us. I thought this was a very nice touch as no-one enjoys walking into a dark house, especially after a long journey. I was concerned the house may be a little cold due to the time of year (Nov) however it was very cosy; we only needed the electric heater on at a low level, it felt very cosy. Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet the owners during our stay, due to them being away themselves however; despite their absence we were made to feel very welcome by their teenage children. Would definitely recommend. Nov 2011.
  6. The photos prepared us for a small garden house, but it is very cleverly furnished making maximum use of the space. Also, the decor ensures a most relaxing ambiance. You will be made to feel most welcome with a lovely garden in which to relax and a cup of tea with cake on arrival. The labradors were no trouble at all. We enjoyed the walking, particularly on the South Downs way and in the Queen Elizabeth country park. For cyclists there is path along the A3 from Clanfield into this park. There is good shopping within a few minutes walk and plenty of places to eat out although we enjoyed our evenings in; the kitchen is well equipped for a light meal for two. We really must return in the spring when the bluebells in the nearby ancient woodland must be a delight and another walk to visit the Sustainability Centre would be great. Sept 2011.
