A peaceful haven for relaxing and unwinding, with lots to do nearby; stunning beaches are within a few miles, Edinburgh is easily reached, as are Holy Island and Alnwick Castle and Gardens. A perfect base for families, walkers (Southern Upland Way and St Cuthbert’s Way), bird watchers and divers (St Abb’s Head), surfers and beach lovers, golfers (Goswick, Gullane, Dunbar and many more nearby). Privately set in the grounds of the owner’s home, it has its own pretty, secluded garden with dining area and children’s play area. Shop 1½ miles, pub 1 mile.

  2. It’s an upside down house which is so pretty and the kitchen area is massive and beautiful, only problem I had was 2 of the cushions in the sitting area have feather cushions - didn’t discover this until the last day but knew i was allergic to something. Sept 2010.

I think that the description did not do it justice... fantastic big space to enable the whole family to relax in comfort, and nice extra touches, such as the large box of toys and games for the children, the books on the shelves and the freshly baked bread on arrival! Only very minor criticism was that a couple of light bulbs did not work and the battery in the kitchen clock needed replacing! Dec 2009.

I have two small children, two and a half, and a three year old, this property was very much suited to our families needs.   13. The cottage is really well located for visits to the coastline - Holy Island and St Abbs. The nearest beach was a few minutes drive and was excellent for families including the opportunity to hire surf and wet suit equipment. We were also within easy reach of Edinburgh so were able to visit the Festival. Emma is very helpful and the facilities are excellent. Aug 2007.

  16. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and the comfort of the cottage, it was like being at home, everything was there for us. The surrounds of the property are very pretty and picturesque, and is safe enough for children to run round freely. Will definitely recommend this property, anyone staying here will be sure to have a fabulous relaxing stay. You can even pick your own fruit from the orchard. Oct 2006.
