Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Wonderful cottage in a great location and so peaceful. The owners are close by to help with any queries which was great when we had a query about the under floor heating. The cottage was decorated and furnished to a very high standard, with added touches such as bathrobes and slippers. It was a great base for us to explore Cornwall and very lucky with the weather. We took our dog who also loved it and the walks are fabulous. My children also had a great time with the use of the games room. Highly recommend to others and would stay again when we are in that neck of the woods. Ps did I mention the bed - huge and so comfortable. You maybe able to tell we had a great week and give it 10/10. Oct 2012.
  2. In general the accommodation was grubby. There was no vacuum cleaner for our use. There was no hanging space for clothes. The table, window sills & shelves were cluttered with owners objects. The games room was shared but we were the only visitors that week & we made good use of if although this room/barn was very dirty with rubbish lying around. The owners were very friendly & we had a good week in Cornwall. Sept 2012.
  3. Fantastic location on a well run estate, beautiful property and absolutely ideal if taking dog on holiday with you. The owners son has several dogs and our two had the time of their lives playing with them. Excellent walks through the estate’s woodland down to the river - steep on way back but stunning location. Would highly recommend it and definately want to return. A hidden gem in North Cornwall. July 2012.
  4. This was a lovely & very comfortable cottage. Cleanliness & laundry were excellent. It would help if you made clear in the brochure that there was very little secluded outdoor space. The estate is beautiful & large but there is no privacy outside. There was no visitor book so we couldn’t comment. A welcome pack would have been nice as in other cottages. Just tea & milk would have been nice. After a 7 hour drive in heavy traffic, having to unload & drive to a shop was not a very good welcome! An iron would have come in handy too! Finally, beware of very little clothes storage. We got by but there are no wardrobes, just drawers & a coat stand. Don’t mean to be negative as we had a wonderful holiday but with more info we would have been better prepared. Aug 2012.
  5. Beautiful barn conversion with a wet room to die for and a massive double bed that you can really stretch out in. Fitted out with high quality, tasteful furniture. The only down side was the enclosed garden, which was actually a small walled area outside the property that the dogs could and did easily jump over, so they had to be supervised every time they went out there, No big deal but it’s much easier if you can just let them out and not have to worry! April 2012.
  6. We have stayed in quite a few cottages and found that Game Larder Cottage on the Colquite Estate was one of the best if not the best equipped cottages we have stayed in. Bath robes and slippers were supplied and a Cornish Cream Tea was awaiting for us when we arrived! Also, being disabled, was very pleased to find that the wet room was fitted out for disabled visitors. April 2012.
  7. The property is on an estate between Bodmin 5 to 6 miles and Wadebridge 6 to 7 miles. The property overlooks a central courtyard with a grassed area and large tree. The property is a lovely, quiet, well presented conversion with excellent wheelchair access. There is the camal trial that walkers can access locally. Very good food in Padstow and local area. We would stay there again. March 2012.
  8. Superb location and lovely cottage. Very warm welcome and extensive grounds for the fog. Feb 2012.
  9. Overall the holiday setting was wonderful. We were welcomed by the Countess and such a warm welcome and very informative. Although there were shoots on the estate which we were invited along to, it was quiet. Dogs are very welcome and there are many walks through woods and the Camel Trail isn’t that far where you can walk for miles and experience the warmth of the Cornish people. If it’s shopping your after you can get lost inthe Trago Liskeard branch which is also wheelchair friendly. If it’s beaches your after you have Padstow again dog friendly and Rock which is more family oriented. For eating out you have the Tudy Inn at St Tudy absolutely fine cuisine or Wadebridge have the Travel Inn, there is much to see and do, I haven’t even scratched the surface. There is a place in Bodmin that is a must and that is Bodmin Jail, fantastic meals. Jan 2012.
  10. This is a lovely cottage from which to explore the rugged North Cornwall coast. We found it to be very well kitted out and our bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever had on holiday. We received a warm welcome but were left very much to ourselves to enjoy our holiday in peace. Perfect! Oct 2011.
