Property Description

In a hidden valley, surrounded by fields on every side, with red kites, buzzards and ravens circling above and with views of the Preseli Hills to the west, these peaceful holiday properties (refs OWV, OWU & OWW) are close to so much in west Wales. Fron Isaf Cottages nestle within the owners’ beautiful grounds and have been sensitively converted from old slate and stone barns into cosy and attractive holiday accommodation, and Ysgubor Uchaf (ref OWW) is a silver award winner with the Green Tourism Council. The stunning indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi make these very special properties. Each cottage has its own outdoor area with private seating and a barbecue. In addition there is a large mature garden with a decked seating area perfect for enjoying the rural views and watching the sun set over the Preselis.
The properties’ environmental credentials are strong. Water comes from a spring and much of the heating and hot water is from a geothermal source. A footpath leads directly from the cottages providing circular walks of varying length in the surrounding countryside.
The nearest town is Narberth, with its wonderful shopping opportunities. About half an hour’s drive to the south are Tenby, Saundersfoot and Amroth with their glorious beaches. While half an hour to the north the dramatic Pembrokeshire and Cardigan coastlines offer beautiful bays, sandy beaches and market towns like Newport, with its excellent restaurants and many good pubs. Carmarthen and Haverfordwest are half an hour away and both towns have a good range of shops, supermarkets and a market. Tourist attractions like Oakwood, Folly Farm, Anna’s Welsh Zoo, Blue Lagoon Water Park as well as The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and St. Davids - Britain’s smallest city - make for a good day out. There are also at least seventeen castles to visit within an hour’s drive. Excellent walking in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and on the coast path, as well as activities like golfing, sailing, fishing, cycling and horse riding are plentiful in the area. Shop, 3½ miles, pub 1 mile.

  1. A beautiful place to get away from the world. The cottage came with fantastic guides to the area put together by the owners, and delicious eggs from their chickens. In a word: idyllic. Sept 2012.
  2. Absolutely brilliant if you would like a quiet break, this is the place to go. Maps are supplied in the cottage for your use because you will want to explore the panoramic countryside. May 2012.
  3. We where welcome by our host Jane, she told us all about the cottages, we where very impressed by everything the indoor pool, suaner and jacuzzi where brilliant. Inside the cottage there was a folder of places you could visit and directions to get their which was brilliant. In fact everything was first class. April 2012.
  4. Phil & Jane were very friendly, and made us very welcome. The cottage was lovely and cosy, with a very pretty garden. The pool, spa & sauna were immaculate. The views were really good too. We had a fabulous week even though the weather wasn’t the best. Would definitely go back again. April 2012.
  5. We have been here 3 times now and we usually never go back to anywhere. This place is excellent and the owners are lovely friendly people. March 2012.
  6. Absolutely fantastic. Could not recommend this property more. Dec 2011.
  7. Amazing cottage, most friendly and helpful owners enjoyed every minute of our break and plan to return as soon as we can. Thank you for a lovely relaxing break. Dec 2011.
  8. It was a fabulous property. Beautifully appointed - the photos don’t do it justice! Nov 2011.
  9. Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Loads of things to do and places to go within 20mins drive. Lots of unexpected but much appreciated touches like cleaning products and tea/coffee/milk on arrival. Please note though that, although towels and linen are included, you must bring your own towels for use of the swimming pool - we were caught out by that. Sept 2011.
  10. Our cottage for 2 was in a super location and although it was one of three in a terrace it was quiet and felt secluded. There was everything you could want in the cottage, a well equipped kitchen, a comfy bed and cosy living room. The bonus for this property is the shared lovely bright clean swimming pool with a counter-current to swim against! The property has lots of excellent information about the area with great suggestions for walks, drives and visits. We took the owners advice to eat in a fabulous restaurant called ’Jabajak’ and were not disappointed. If you are keen wildlife watchers the area has an abundance of ’Red kites’ to watch soaring on the thermals and the delightful garden is full of less often seen birds like a Woodpecker and Jay. Aug 2011.
  11. This cottage was a real gem. Full of original features, homely touches and modern conveniences. We felt right at home and the cottage and surrounding landscape were gorgeous. Owners were incredibly friendly and helpful but not in any way interfering. Can’t wait til we can go back! Aug 2011.
  12. The cottage is somewhat isolated affording peace and quiet in a rural setting with lovely views. The pool complex is excellent for winding down after a busy day. The location is central for visiting the many attractions in SW Wales but obviously, a car is absolutely essential. June 2011.
  13. We enjoyed the quirkiness of the property and the stunning views. Pool and sauna facilities welcome addition. Nov 2010.
  14. A gorgeous cosy cottage which we loved coming back to after our adventures during the day! Oct 2010.
  15. The cottage was beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Oct 2010.
  16. Everywhere was clean, and everything you needed was there. Was great for the dog aswell. Loved it. Sept 2010.
  17. Fairly clean and well finished. Aug 2010.
  18. Liked the charm, timber barn like decor and tranquility of the surroundings. even the sheep were quiet. Aug 2010.
  19. We were both impressed by the situation and quality of the cottage and the pool jacuzzi, sauna all were first class. The owners were most helpful and friendly. A wonderful holiday. June 2010.
  20. It was compact and exactly what we wanted from a one bed cottage. June 2010.
