Property Description

Outdoor swimming pool

North Dalton is a pretty village situated on the gentle slopes of the Yorkshire Wolds between Pocklington and Driffield, yet only 24 miles from the magnificent city of York and approx 18 miles from ’Yorkshire’s Heritage Coastline’. The Wolds Way is nearby and the stately homes of Burton Agnes Hall 14 miles, and Sledmere House 12 miles, are but a sample of the attractions in the former county of the East Riding of Yorkshire. North Dalton Manor is situated just across the road from the village pub, serving good food. The cottage occupied in bygone days by Fred who tended the sheep and has been carefully refurbished, tastefully decorated and comprehensively equipped, to provide good standards of comfort. The farm is worked by the owners who can arrange for the family outdoor swimming pool, hard tennis court and sauna to be made available. Good dog walking facilities. Ideal holiday base.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with bath, shower and toilet.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. We loved the coal fire, which made the cottage feel very cosy. We also enjoyed feeding the ducks on the pond across the road. It was great having a tv in the main bedroom. March 2012.
  2. We found the cottage to be quiet, comfortable and convenient for the attractive cycle routes around the Yorkshire Wolds. The owner kindly allowed us to garage our bicycles in an empty stable which was a great help to us. The kitchen is spacious, modern and includes a good freezer but is poorly lit. The widescreen TV and open fire in the lounge made the November evenings very pleasant. Oct 2011.
  3. The cottage was well placed for tourist attractions. Pool and tennis courts were a bonus if you have children. Village also has a small park. Pub over the road was excellent for food and locals were really friendly and helpful. I did miss having a shop but it didn’t spoil the holiday. July 2010.
  4. Ideal for a relaxing break any time of year. A cosy, well equipped cottage in a delightful area, with everything you need for a relaxing break. The swimming pool was lovely, and free to use, we could have used tennis courts and sauna, but we ran out of time!!! It was a great base to explore lots of interesting places. So nice to be able to bring our two dogs, as accommodation is usually limited to a maximum of one! Another plus was that everything was included in the price. We had our own washing machine and shared tumble dryer with no charge for electricity- unheard of in most places. Us, our two boys aged 12 and 15 and the dogs had a great time. We will be back!. Very homely and comfortable. We chose the accommodation as it permitted two dogs. Everything worked well and there was nothing lacking in terms of equipment and furnishings. Well placed for touring the area. Aug 2009.
  5. Excellent position for visiting York, the Wolds and seaside. Feb 2009.
  6. The cottage was in a good location for going out and about, using the park and ride to visit various places was excellent. March 2009.
  7. On a cold February week, returning to a solid fuel, coal burning fire was excellent. The cottage was very cosy and warm. Beautiful part of the country and very quiet but with a good bus service to York. Feb 2008.
