Surrounded by National Trust land, reached by 1 mile no through road. Kington 5 miles, Hay-on-Wye 10 miles. Easy access to Brecon Beacons, Mortimer trail, Offa’s Dyke, and Elan Valley. Shop 5 miles, pub 4½ miles.

  2. A great centre for touring south east Wales (Brecon and Hay on Wye) and the Marches. The Farmer’s dogs (4)and cats are very friendly but you do need to like dogs and be at ease with them as they are always out in the farmyard to greet you. The farmer and his wife gave a good greeting and were a mine of local information,and quickly fixed any problems. Sept 2011.

A charming farm cottage looking out on one side to a real old-fashioned farm yard, complete with friendly farm dogs, and on the other side to a cottage garden with views across to the Black Mountains. An idyllic retreat in deep countryside, but convenient for Hay, Kington and Offa’s Dyke. Aug 2011.

  7. This cottage is extremely well furnished and stocked. It has a wonderful garden and the owners, who live on site, allowed our children to use the play equipment in the paddock. The location right on the farmyard is wonderful and the children loved playing football with the sheepdogs! July 2010.

  9. The cottage was well provided with equipment, travel materials, games and even a piano. The landlady and her husband were so welcoming. The actual rooms were very well cleaned and arranged for our comfort. The garden was delightful and the view from the garden, though limited by trees was wonderful in its depth. We agreed that it was one of the best holidays we have had in 4 decades. The sunny weather was an extra bonus. June 2010.

  13. Off the beaten track but handy for Hay On Wye. Pretty cottage. Especially liked the quiet of the property being well away from the road but convenient. A very sweet cottage and garden. Really liked the farmyard situation with the domestic animals - dogs and cat and farm animals. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Would stay there again! Aug 2009.
