Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. It was very well equipped. The bed was comfortable. The weather was cold and windy, so the cottage was as warm as could be expected. The cottage is very small. Ideal for two, or two and a child. We had two dogs nd the back garden was ideal for them. In good, sunny weather it would be lovely to sit in. Walkers would be in their element. A very pretty part of the island. Dec 2012.
  2. The cottage is very well situated with easy access to good walking country (for dogs and people!). It is very well stocked (particularly the kitchen) and there is a good variety of books, DVDs and literature about the island (including a couple of useful OS maps). The only slight niggle we had was that, being an older property, the night storage heaters were not sufficient to keep the place warm in the evenings (we went at the end of October). If you went in the winter, you would definitely have to use the Parkray and/or the open fire. Oct 2012.
  3. Always a pleasure to stay here. We are frequent visitors which says it all. Sept 2012.
  4. Plenty of places to visit. The local shop, just a few yards down the road, is well worth using. March 2012.
  5. A superb location, unspoilt with a range of places to visit. Ideal walking country. The cottage is ideal, surprisingly spacious, very well equipped with many home comforts. Perfect base for walking. Nice garden for sitting in the evening and an extra space for a dog. Feb 2012.
  6. Lovley cottage, dog friendly, great location and very accommodating owners. Jan 2012.
  7. This was one of the most homely cottages we’ve stayed in, with an excellent location for walking the western side of the island and a short drive from the ferry at Yarmouth. The large and self-contained kitchen/dining area, with easy-to-clean floors, made for a very relaxed break with our two dogs. It’s worth noting that the most visible identification of the property is "3 Swanage" rather than "Fern Cottage", especially if you’re arriving after dark. Dec 2011.
  8. This property is certainly a hidden gem. Its location is ideal for exploring the island by foot along the costal walkway which can be joined from a few hundred yards from the front door! It is truely a home from home - almost like someone has moved out for a few days to let us enjoy the quiet and peace of the cottage and its surroundings. I have already recommended this cottage to many family and friends and will definately be returning and cannot wait... Dec 2011.
  9. very lovely cottage it was our 2nd vist and our dogs love it there. its like home from home. Oct 2011.
  10. Excellent quiet get away loved it ! Nov 2011.
  11. Lovely cottage, really well equipped and in a lovely location. Freshwater is an excellent base for a holiday, weather was lovely, we had a great time - will be back to the island again soon and would certainly like to come back to the same cottage again. May 2011.
  12. Ideal quiet location to explore the island, home from home accommodation; bird watchers dream, garden topped by visits to the bird table by red squirrels. March 2011.
  13. The best cottage we have ever stayed in. Excellent walks with our dogs right out of the front door. Very peaceful location but close to shops when needed. Red squirrel in the back garden. Lovely ambience as soon as you walk in the property. The only property we will go back to. Feb 2011.
  14. Roomy for a small cottage. Useful downstairs toilet. Well equipped. Feb 2011.
  15. Very comfortable and well equipped cottage - a real home from home. Dec 2010.
  16. It was very comfortable and much thought had been put into providing guests with everything they could need for a relaxing break, plenty of information and maps about the local area, it was perfect for dogs, very cosy and the location was excellent for a quiet country break. Nov 2010.
  17. Lovely dog-secure sun-trap garden. Only a short road walk to fields and footpaths. Good quality TV in lounge. Comfortable lounge, spacious dining room and kitchen. Lots of crockery and equipment in kitchen. Relatively good car-parking. Oct 2010.
  18. Well equipped cottage, in a really pretty area, very quiet. Nice enclosed garden to sit in. Sept 2010.
  19. The property was well presented and comfortable. Lovely outside area to sit in the sun and an attractive (and dog friendly) garden. Aug 2010.
  20. Fantastic cottage, extremely well equipped., very homely and comfortable. In a good position; close to a great pub. Tennyson Down fabulous. July 2010.
