Property Description

Ideal touring location

Three well presented properties each of individual style and quality. Romantic Y Beudy (ref 19334), ideal for couples, Y Bwthyn (ref 19333), a very good quality conversion for smaller families or couples requiring extra space and Felin Uchaf (ref 19332), for 6, a detached 18th century restored watermill. Sited around a small courtyard dating back to the 18th century the properties provide a very good standard of holiday accommodation, equipped with modern appliances in a superb location on the edge of the National Park at the foot of the Snowdonia mountain range. A short 5 minute drive will take you to the A55 expressway that links the North Wales coastline to Anglesey and in the opposite direction Chester. Nearby attractions include Caernarfon Castle, Llanberis mountain steam train to the top of Mount Snowdon, Llandudno ski slope and the Great Orme. This really is a mecca for walkers and mountain bikers with the added bonus of a pub and restaurant within walking distance and local shop just 1 mile.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Property is in an excellent location for the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales Coast and Anglesey. The farmhouse is well equipped, but if you like to read in bed bring your own lamp! Oct 2011.
  2. The location is excellent for the Snowdonia area, don’t be put off by bad weather, still plenty to see and do. The house had everything for a comfortable stay and it is the only property hired by us over several years, that everything was in working order. The owners are on-site and really want visitors to have an enjoyable stay. Sept 2011.
  3. Home from home - everything you wanted was there .In quite a remote area but overall very enjoyable, lovely pub nearby - Vanyol Arms - food was excellent and staff really nice and friendly. We would definitely stay again. Feb 2011.
  4. Character. Sep 2010.
  5. We liked the ease of access, the nearness of the property to places of interest, with regard to hill-walking and climbing in Snowdonia, the towns of Caernarvon and Bangor, National Trust properties like Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd and the Welsh Highland Railway. The property was well presented and well kept, and we enjoyed a comfortable stay. Aug 2010.
  6. The cottage was lovely. The added extras like the Welsh cakes, fresh fruit, milk in the fridge and a paper on Sunday morning (without requesting it) made it even more special. The knives were sharp - we cook a lot and this is really important to us. The owners showed us around when we arrived and were happy to offer us information about the area without them feeling like they were intruding on our holiday (they live in one of the cottages). July 2010.
  7. Unlike many properties this had a full compliment of kitchen equipment, eg sharp knives, sieves, kitchen foil, cling film, amongst other things. After many years of visiting cottages I have a list of things to take ’just in case’ like the rice sieve etc - this was the first cottage that nothing was used from my contingency bag. Also I liked the welcome of tea, coffee, milk, fruit and a welsh equivalent of a fruit loaf! The owners were pleasant and friendly and because they had no-one in the cottage for a couple of days invited us to stay and go whenever we liked which included staying an extra night free of charge if we wished, which I have never experienced before. June 2010.
  8. four generations of our family stayed in this spacious cottage, and the warm welcome on a wet friday evening was just what was required. March 2010.
  9. The house was not warm when we arrived, but had no trouble once it was up and running. Feb 2010.
  10. Well equipped, great location, plenty of space, a great place for children (although we didn’t have any) ample play area, big field for them to play in, although we did take our dog and she enjoyed exploring the field. Sept 2009.
  11. The cottage was spacious and comfortable. We loved the fact it was an old watermill and all the original period features. Aug 2009.
  12. Spacious, with traditional features, and quality furnishings. July 2009.
  13. Lovely courtyard setting. Rooms clean and welcoming. Caretakers provided Sunday newspapers and extras in property. Lovely ambience and location. Nice homely touches throughout and very clean. Caretakers very helpful. July 2009.
  14. A simply wonderful, cosy cottage with everything you expect from a well appointed home-from-home, and more. The detailed care put into our welcome and our stay really made it special. Sept 2008.
  15. Beautiful cottage, very well equipped and in an excellent position to explore North Wales. The snow that fell during our holiday was the icing on the cake. We would definitely book this property again when holidaying in North Wales. Oct 2008.
  16. The property is bigger than we expected and fantastic value for money. Oct 2008.
  17. Nice personal touches by owner eg fruit, milk and free newspaper. May 2008.
  18. The cottage was far better than we expected and the owner was most helpful. I would recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to base themselves centrally in the Snowdonia area. Oct 2007.
