Standing elevated in an acre of attractive grounds, this imposing property is situated on the edge of the Hambleton Hills and enjoys stunning views across the Vale of York. Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Excellent holiday cottage. Suited all the needs of our party varying in age from 6 months to 64! Very well equipped - we would have liked to have stayed longer! Oct 2011.
  2. Loved the property, group of males on a stag do, the property enabled half of a group to split and play snooker/pool on the well maintained full size snooker table and the other half were entrenched in the well furnished front room trying to outscore each other on the brought along PS3 system. Helped that there was a large HD LCD screen as a focal point in the room. The front room had a large bay window giving breathtaking views across the open countryside with a gas BBQ in a covered spot providing subsidence. Went to local pub and also village and didn’t find all the locals very welcoming, got the feeling they didn’t like out off towners. June 2011.
  3. What a wonderful location, panoramic views and what generous space in the house. If visiting as a large family or group there is plenty of living space downstairs so you are not under everyone’s feet. The grounds are wonderful to enjoy, especially in good weather. The bedrooms are slightly disproportionate in size to each other but all the same, they are more than adequate. Make use of the games room and day room if you have children in the party and the tennis court and large snooker table is in excellent condition. It’s lovely to take in the house and use it, not going out every day and maybe consider wandering around the local footpath’s, take in the village chuch and the Carpenters Arms for Pimm’s at lunchtime or a good pint of well kept beer. The food is also excellent and I recommend booking the private room for a special occasion. Go for a walk at Sutton Bank and to Kilburn’s white horse. You will sleep well after all of that. Local supermarket in Thirsk but we wish we had arrange for a food delivery through one of the large supermarkets to arrive on the night or next morning of arrival. That saves taking all the food/drink with you and having to do a big shop on your first day. May 2011.
  4. Owner was very informative and helpful. If appropriate use the Carpenter’s Arms in the village. The food is very good and the service excellent. Beds are very comfortable and the games room a wow with all ages. Plenty of room fro everyone and a great house for hide and seek! April 2011.
  5. Comfortable property, excellent facilities of tennis court and snooker room. lovely surroundings. Feb 2011.

  12. The property was amazing. Lots of space and the attention to detail made everything perfect. Could not fault it. Nov 2009.
  13. A beautifully secluded property with plenty of space for all 12 in our party. Ideally situated for walkers, central location for the Dales, Moors and York Town. Views from the property were to die for, even in October, plenty of wildlife on your doorstep. Oct 2009.
  14. The stunning views should be mentioned. The owner was really friendly and helpful. July 2009.
