Property Description

Enjoying a spectacular setting on the banks of the River Dee (fishing not permitted), this unique, converted water mill retains many atmospheric original working parts. Surrounded by natural woodland, it boasts spiral staircases and a charming (partly enclosed) balcony overlooking the river and weir. Ideal for large families and group get-togethers, situated in the enchanting hamlet of Erbistock, perfectly placed for peace. The holiday property provides an ideal touring base for the Vale of Llangollen and beyond, with plenty of places to see and things do for all the family. The city of Chester is within 30 minutes drive, watch the canal boats at Ruabon, visit the woodland village of Chirk with its mountainous landscape or the many other picturesque villages nearby. Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Beautiful location alongside the river. Very spacious and homely mill, fully equipped with all you will need for a relaxing family holiday. Surrounding countryside providing amazing views and great for walks and local pubs nearby very friendly and accommodating. Short car ride to the town and surrounding villages. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and will definitely visit again. Aug 2011.
  2. The Mill is a great place for a crowd, fairly basic accommodation (mainly bunk beds) but lots of space and a quirky interesting building. Dec 2009.
  3. Location and setting of the Mill by the River Dee, excellent. July 2009.
  4. Fantastic location at a reasonable price. I feel the price reflects the standard of cleanliness and furniture and is a great place to get away from things with family/friends. Jan 2009.
  5. Excellent accommodation for large groups. Brilliant party house where you can make as much noise as you like without any worries of offending neighbours, as there aren’t any! Fantastic building with so much character in a fabulous location. June 2008.
  6. The owner took the trouble to phone us before we arrived and was extremely helpful. Sept 2007.
  7. The character of the mill was simply wonderful. We all fell in love with the place. I don’t think the photos on the website do the mill justice though. I think there should be a photo from the balcony showing the river and waterfall and better pictures of the lounges. Aug 2007.
  8. Amazing property everything was brilliant everyone had a fantastic time! It was clean, well furnished and had excellent views. Very good value for money! Jan 2007.
  9. Amazing property, everything was brilliant, everyone had a fantastic time! It was clean, well furnished and had excellent views. Very good value for money! Jan 2007.
  10. The Mill is set in a fantastic site next to a river and is totally secluded. Feb 2007.
  11. We will go back. Dec 2006.
