Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, yet only a few minutes walk from the restaurants and boutiques at the centre of the bustling village of Bowness-on-Windermere, this delightful, very well equipped house offers lovely views of the lake and the fells from the balcony and the picture window in the living room. An excellent holiday base for visiting the many attractions of Bowness with Lakeside walks, water sports and leisurely boat trips as well as the Beatrix Potter Exhibition, museums and art galleries all nearby. The cruiser trips on the Lake take you to Lakeside to the south (Aquarium of the Lakes and Lakeside to Haverthwaite steam railway) and Ambleside to the north. Within a short drive are many National Trust properties, as well as historic buildings such as Holker Hall and gardens with the Motor Museum, Sizergh Castle, Levens Hall and gardens. The beauty and grandeur of the Lakeland Fells surrounds Lake Windermere, enticing visitors to explore the many walks, cycle paths and mountain climbs, whilst other lakes such as Coniston Water, Ullswater and Derwent Water are within easy reach for wonderful days out. Shop and pub 300 yards.

Ellen Brow is in an excellent location great value for money cleaning stuff was provide tea towels, towels diswaher washing machine lovely views over windermere visit hole in T wall pub on Sunday lunchtime acoustic guitarist lucnchtimes and great folk band in the evening dont miss it. I f you have never visited the Lakes before go as it is a beutiful place and if you stay at Ellen Brow you will be in a lovely quiet location yet a couple of mins walk and you are in the heart of everything we stayed in 2011 and sure we will go back soon.   5. The location of this property is ideal. I went with my two elderly parents and my sons, it is central to the shops and if you want to go to the lake there is a short cut across the park that is a minutes walk away. The property is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with views overlooking the lake, it is a superb location with a beautiful patio area at the rear. July 2010.
  6. Our 89 year old parents used the back accommodation with bathroom like a granny flat. There was plenty of space for all the family. The view was perfect the location was great. June 2010.

  14. Well proportioned and equipped for a family of five, the location was brilliant and the view superb. One thing that would be useful would be twin beds in all the three bedrooms to allow more versatile sleeping arrangements. Dec 2009.
  15. Very quiet location with uninterrupted view of the lake and hills from both the sitting-room and one of the main bedrooms. The cottage was very well equipped with good quality utensils and crockery etc.and comfortable seating. It is the cleanest cottage we have ever arrived at. We have already re-booked for next year.   18. This was our third visit to this property. The location is secluded, but it is a few minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of Bowness. Feb 2008.

We have used Ellen Brow now 3 times and each time the facilities have got better with various upgrades to the Kitchen and Bedrooms etc. What with the excellent view over Windermere and the Lake this is our favourite accommodation in Windermere and would recommend it to any one wanting this particular type of holiday.
