Set on the edge of a village, this stone-built cottage, with panoramic views, adjoins the owner’s working farm and has access to a carp fishing lake.

Relax in the garden or visit magnificent Fontainebleu Château.

Enjoy the summer medieval festivals in Provins, visit Troyes in the Champagne region or spend a day at Eurodisney.

Shop, café/bar and restaurant 7km.

Ground floor: Lounge/kitchen/diner, separate toilet with basin. First floor: Bathroom with shower over corner bath and basin, 2 bedrooms: 1 kingsize, 1 double plus double and single bed.

Electric heating, initial 8kw of all fuel and power included in rent, remainder by meter reading at end of stay, bed linen included in rent, 2 colour satellite TVs (French channels only), DVD player, radio/cassette/CD player, washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, private lawned garden, terrace, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 3 cars. Sorry, no pets. No smoking please. NB: 3 steps to entrance; fishing lake 600m from property. 5 steps from lounge to bathroom and 4 steps to double bedroom.

  1. The property is part of the farm but has a separate driveway and garden, so complete privacy. The kitchen was very well kitted out with equipment - although a sharp cooking knife would come in handy. We had problems lighting the hob gas burners in the beginning but soon realised that we were not turning the knob up high enough. During very hot weather the upstairs bedrooms can become rather warm, best to sleep with windows open, but thick walls keep the downstairs area cool. I have recommended to the proprietor that he install mirrors in the bedrooms. On the whole we found the accommodation very comfortable and our hosts very friendly and obliging. Pleasant walks in the area. We would recommend visiting Provins, Fountainbleau and Barbizon. July 2011.

  3. The cottage was exactly as described, so there were no unwelcome surprises. One of the reasons we chose this particular cottage was that there was a ’no smoking’ rule. We knew the owner lived nearby, and this was reassuring if we had any problems (particulary since we don’t speak French). The owner, who despite having only a little English, was charming and helpful and very open to our ’miming’ and limited French! July 2010.

  5. The calm atmosphere, of the surrounding landscape, also the cottage was very well equipped with accessories, i.e kitchenware, cutlery. The cottage was very clean on arrival. We were provided with fishing rods for use on the nearby lake. There is a stereo system complete with dvd, which was a help as all the channels were in French. The rooms are spacious and very the decor is finished nicely. I would describe it as a homely atmosphere and the perfect getaway location for a small family. The property is located approx 1 hour from Disney in remote farmland. There are nearby towns with patisseries, shops and delis, local market is on a Friday. Provins is a nice town and also the medieval Provins is a good day out. There were also various leaflets left at the property to advise of local activities / attractions which was a great help too.
