Property Description

Ideally located in the heart of the New Forest National Park and on the road between Brockenhurst and Burley with wonderful open views over the forest. The ever popular town of Brockenhurst lies just a short walk away, with its pubs, restaurants and shops. This grand residence enjoys its own large, enclosed garden, with a Summer House for children to enjoy. Many rooms in this holiday property have lovely high ceilings and some with large bay windows, providing a light and airy feel to the home along with an open fire in the large living room, perfect for winter evenings. From the gate there is direct access into the unspoilt forest and heathland, with wandering ponies and cattle, which the New Forest is famous for. Miles of beautiful walks are available, or alternatively the surrouding area can be explored by car or bicycle - discovering some of the appealing villages, attractions and gardens, such as Beaulieu Palace, Abbey and Motor museum, Exbury Gardens and Bucklers Hard. The nearest beach is just a 10 minute drive away. Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole are within 40 minutes drive. The Isle of Wight is also within easy reach. Cycle store available at the property. Shops, pubs and restaurants ¼ mile.

This was our 2nd visit to Edgemoor House,a large, spacious property (inside & out) in an excellent location just outside Brockenhurst.It’s quiet despite being close to the road & ideal for an extended family gathering. Our family ranged from 20-81 years, but it would have been equally suitable for a family with younger children. We went last year to celebrate my Dad’s 80th birthday and it was such a success that we booked again for this year and may well now make it an annual event! Only 2 criticisms - it could have done with another bathroom/shower (and the bathrooms would generally benefit from updating) and a bigger BBQ! Also it’s in a bit of a ’blackhole’ internet/mobile phone -wise making it impossible to Skype our daughter who was abroad and unable to be with us. The photographs, while not inaccurate probably don’t do it justice - it’s even better than it looks! April 2011.
  7. Property was well presented, clean and tidy. The log fire was a big hit, also the play house in the garden was popular with the young ones, although it did need to be cleaned out before it could be used. Overall it was truly excellent. March 2011.

  17. An absolutely wonderful setting with ponies, donkeys and highland cattle just outside the garden gate (which needs to be kept closed so they don’t come in and eat the flowers). House is very comfortable and the new kitchen is so well equipped. Would recommend this house to anyone and would go back ourselves. April 2010.
