Property Description

Dating back to the 1760s, these three charming holiday cottages occupy a courtyard setting. Filled with character, they command views over the owners’ surrounding 3-acre grounds, and are set at the edge of the large village of Verwood. Whilst Eastworth Stable forms single-storey accommodation and Heathpoult is set out over two floors, Smuggler’s Cottage boasts a galleried second floor bedroom – each of these highly individual cottages are presented to a high standard. All three of the properties offered here benefit from a small garden of their own. There are many excellent walks through the Dorset countryside, and riding is available in Verwood. New Forest, lake fishing at Edmondsham and water sports at the Ringwood Lake all easily accessible. Seaside Bournemouth 15 miles. Various shops, local taverns and a 9- and 18-hole golf course locally. Shops ¼ mile.

  1. Very good location for walks to Ringwood Forest and to visit nearby Dorset Heavy Horse Centre. Not far from Poole and Studland Bay. Recommend the Drusilla’s Inn at Horton for delicious food and a dog friendly pub. Lots of walks to explore in this area too. Sept 2012.

  3. Verwood isn’t very interesting but the stable is located on the edge of Ringwood Forest and close to the New Forest so very accessible for lovely walks. The cottage itself was very well planned out and met our needs perfectly. May 2011.
  4. Ideal property for the needs of either 2 singles or 2 couples, especially given the layout, with a bedroom (with ensuite) at either end of the lounge. Would have welcomed more information upon arrival, regarding such as the central heating system, alarm system and wi-fi provision, and more detailed info re local facilities (eg. a map showing where the supermarket was - we never did find it!). May 2011.

  6. The accommodation has a wet room en-suite but was not advertised on the web page but this proved to be invaluable as my disabled mother could manouvere easily. Property features need to be promoted more. June 2010.

  8. The layout of the cottage with the bedrooms either side of the living area and each with an en suite was very good. The enclosed garden is a bonus for families with children or dogs. Sept 2009.

  12. Wonderful accommodation, 2nd visit excellent for our 3.5 year old twin boys may go back next year. Enclosed garden is a bonus, with play area across the road or a walk right next to the cottage. June 2009.
  13. It was lovely cottage brilliant for our 2.5 year old twin boys and lots to do sown there, by the time we finished we needed a holiday to recover. It was so good we are going back to the sames cottage next year and booked the day we got back. June 2008.

  15. The location was ideal for the New Forest. Verwood is a pleasant village with shopping and eating facilities. Eastworth Stable being on one level was excellent for a young child. Eastworth Farm has convenient parking and a pathway for walking a dog. June 2006.
