Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Beautiful and comfortable cottage in a stunning location, ideal for a relaxing break. Nov 2011.
  2. Wonderful location. Comfortable cottage. Oct 2011.
  3. We came from Italy to attend Jane Austen Festival but wanted a quite cosy cottage and we found it. The view is spectacular, the nature is overvelming, the animals (fox and dear) are your backdoor neigbours! We enjoyed our stay and really hope to return! Oct 2011.
  4. This is a city and a country location. Walk down the hill for 20 mins in one direction you are in the city, walk in the opposite direction and you are in wonderful countryside. Note: the main part of the description ’Down’, meaning to get home there will be an up! This is an amazing place to stay providing you are willing to do some walking up and down hill or drive your car. The views of the city are stupendous, both from the conservatory and the upstairs terrace. The whole house is well put together and all facilities are exactly as described in the brochure. Cons: The approach road is a little narrow and bendy and the parking is tight for anything larger than a Ford Focus. The path to the house from the car has quite a few steps and is somewhat narrow. The path down to the town is steep and is at first a country path which then turns into a road. Alternatives are to get a taxi from the end of a housing estate road which is a 100yd walk up the hill from the cottage or a bus from a little further along the same road. Provided you are fit and want to be out in true countryside watching the buzzards fly around, but also be alongside a very interesting city, this is a perfect location. I, for one, want to go back there. May 2011.
  5. Cottage surpassed expectations, its a hidden gem. Combines the simple pleasures of nature, we saw wild deer and badgers at the doorstep, with so many places local to visit and city shops within walking distance; although you might want to get transport back, it’s very uphill! April 2011.
  6. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was in a great location, just 5 minutes from the centre, and offered a fantastic view over the city. March 2011.
  7. 20 min walk to the city but accom. in tranquil peaceful surroundings. Feb 2011.
  8. Fantastic location, with amazing views. July 2010.
  9. Fabulous location overlooking city with lovely roof terrace and conservatory. Good bus service into town or taxis. Felt as if we were in the country but only a mile from city. This was our second visit and will use property again. April 2010.
  10. Comfortable; superb views over Bath, far better than the photograph! Countryside feel to location but close to the town. April 2010.
  11. Excellent view of the city both by day and night. March 2010.
  12. The location of the cottage was excellent. The accommodation was lovely, if you were unlucky with the weather it was nice to be able to relax in & look out over Bath. March 2010.
  13. The view was fantastic and it was only a 15 minute walk to the centre of Bath. March 2010.
  14. A comfortable house in a beautiful setting. The view from the property was stunning. The location was slightly isolated and difficult to reach. Oct 2009.
  15. Location and views and rural surroundings. Sept 2009.
  16. The accommodation was great, once you’d found it for the first time!! Needs more detailed information at parking space & steps & path to cottage, luckily the man from coach house came out & showed me way as I was unsure & on my own! Sept 2009.
  17. There are so many places to visit in and around Bath. And a number of excellent restaurants including Jamie Oliver’s ’Jamie’s Italian’ for delicious food at very reasonable prices. Then of course the many museums of interest, including The Roman Baths, The American Museum, a visit to see the Crescent and the renovated Georgian house in all its splendor, as well as excursions a little further afield such as to Cheddar Gorge which is really spectacular. For tourists who enjoy comedy don’t miss The Comedy Walk which takes place in Bath each evening at 8.00 for an alternative view of the city! This was a lovely cottage and the views are magnificent with Bath so spectacularly in the horizon. There is everything provided at the cottage for comfort and convenience. Very pleasant and helpful owners who provided us with excellent information if it was required. The hill up to the cottage is very steep if you intend to walk in to Bath but excellent for keeping you fit too! Aug 2009.
  18. We visited Eastwood Lodge after re-newing our wedding vows. The owner had left a bottle of wine and a note in the fridge to congratulate us. How lovely is that! She is a lovely lady and couldn’t have been more pleasant. We don’t want to "big up" the Lodge too much as we’d like to keep it our secret. May 2009.
  19. A really cosy cottage with great views, in peaceful surroundings. Had everything that we could have wanted, and the owner was very helpful. Aug 2009.
  20. Bath is a very charming city with lovely gardens providing facilities for both old and young. Victoria Park has a fine childrens playground. The accommodation is situated just 5 minutes drive from Bath, with a lovely view of the city. Very quiet place with a good fish’n’chips take away nearby. Recommended. Lovely location, with a grand view overlooking Bath. Very quiet spot only 5 minutes drive from the center of Bath. The owner was very helpful and pleasant. July 2009.
