  1. Excellent location and ideal for dog walking. Lovely garded, enclosed, so safe with our dogs. Lovely walks right from the front door and pub, [New Inn] five minutes away with large car park for car which is safe for dogs to stay in. Pub excellent value and very nice people. Overall, a lovely holiday despite awful weather. Difficult to keep neat and tidy with bad weather but think we left premises as lovely as we found it. Loved the large Deer visiting the garden!   3. The cottage was exactly as described, superb supply of logs for the wood burner. The garden was excellent for the dogs, being large and fully fenced. Location perfect with some brilliant walks right from the door. The local pub was a bonus, good food, great real ales, large open fire and very dog friendly. Highly recommend. Dec 2011.

  6. We had a great holiday, the Forest of Dean is a lovely place to go, with great walks, excellent for dogs. The property was very cosy with a lovely log fire,(we did not get to use it, as the weather was great), wonderful garden with lovely patio area, all enclosed with was great for the dog. Cottage is up a quiet lane, short walk to forest path which is one and half miles to Symonds Yat. Aug 2011.

  8. East View is set in a lovely location. The enclosed garden has plenty of space for the dogs to run around. There is access to the forest just 2 minutes away at the end of the lane. Lovely walks short and long. The beds were very comfy. Overall a very cosy and well equipped cottage. June 2011.

  10. East View is a delightful cottage and is especially ideal for visitors with dogs. A fully enclosed, spacious garden, and less than a five minute walk to the Forest. French windows lead out from the sitting room to a patio, obviously a suntrap in summer. The bed has a memory foam matress and is very comfortable. As our holiday was so early in the year, many places of interest were closed, but we visited the Dean Heritage Centre, which was fabulous, so much to see,including pigs and ferrets which are to be found in garden of the Victorian Forester’s cottage and a wealth of homemade cakes in the charming cafe overlooking the mill pond. The Clearwell caves, are well worth a visit, while the ruins of Tintern Abbey are really beautiful, and there is a lovely shop in which to spend the remainder of your holiday money! March 2011.

  14. It is situated within very easy walking distance to the forest. Large fully fenced pet-friendly garden. April 2010.
  15. It was in a very good location, you could walk to Symonds Yat Rock from the cottage which was great with the dog and especially as we had about 6 inches of snow. It was well equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen. Log burner was fantastic and when we got used to it it warmed the whole of the cottage. Very clean and great that you can take your dog. Feb 2010.
  16. We’ve been there many times. There are no surprises. We open the door, we’re in and settled in just minutes. Close to walks, pubs, River Wye. Lovely log burner with loads and loads of logs. Pure drop-out! Dec 2009.
