  1. Our apartment was better than the description and photos that were on the cottages4you website. The hosts (property owners) helped to make the vacation by giving us advice on sights to see, where grocery stores and gas stations are located. information on the small village of Fintry that our "home away from home" was located. Even though we were in a very small village surrounded by beautiful forests in nowhere land, we still had wi-fi available to us at our apartment and at the local pub and inn down the street. So we were able to check our email and upload vacation photos to Facebook so our friends could follow our vacation. Our apartment was in a very large home with a separate entrance in the back. There were all sorts of trees and some in bloom with pink flowers. The sound of birds was everywhere! It was so peaceful. John, the owner showed us where the coal closet was next to the garage. We would bring it up in a large bucket along with dry wood from the garage that we could help ourselves to at any time. On Wednesday nights the local talent would bring their instruments to the Inn down the street and play and sing Scottish music. It was incredible! There was a banjo player, drum player, 2 guitar players, flute player and 2 accordion players. We will definitely have memories to last a lifetime. The property was centrally located in Scotland in-between the large cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh and slightly North. Because of the location it enabled us to travel through all of Scotland. As soon as we drove up the long winding driveway and saw the large house in the distance and then were shown into the apartment by the owner, we knew we had made the right choice! May 2012.
  2. The East Wing is "home from home". Everything one needs for a holiday is provided. Excellent crockery, pans, towels, linen etc. Our two dogs enjoyed the freedom of 5 acres of lawned grounds, as well as the adventures of the 30 odd acres of woodland. The owners, were not intrusive but always on hand when advice was needed. The Fintry Inn provided very good food and the staff and customers made us very welcome. Looking forward to returning there for another relaxing holiday. May 2012.
  3. Had a lovely holiday in the east wing, Meg and John, the owners were so helful and friendly. The accommodation is one of the best Ii have stayed in, in over 15 years. Our 2 dogs didn’t want to come home. April 2012.

  8. This is probably one of the best holidays we have had in Scotland, the people of Fintry were really welcoming and the hosts John and Meg were genuine, friendly and helped make our holiday what it was. This will be a place we will be visiting again. The village is very dog friendly as are the owners of the property. Massive gardens well off the main road for free running and playing for your pets. The owners were not instrusive - but when approached gave a very high level of local information and advice. It was an outstanding experience. We really loved everything. We did not even have to spend time reading the books or looking at TV. June 2009.
