There are some lovely days out to be had in the vicinity; admire the gothic cathedral in the pretty town of Wells, marvel at the impressive caverns at Cheddar Gorge and Wooky Hole Caves, or explore the many footpaths which lead through the Mendip Hills and Exmoor National Park (also offering excellent pony-trekking terrain). There are a number of historic houses and gardens to visit locally, including Stourhead and Montacute (NT), and Longleat and Sherborne. Excellent beach at Weston-Super-Mare and water sports facilities at Chew Valley Lake. Glastonbury Tor is just 3 miles away, with a good variety of shops and restaurants, and the beautiful heritage city of Bath is accessible for day trips. Village shop/P.O and pub 1 mile.
