Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Barley cottage was an idyllic get away, there’s loads to do, if you like shopping then, ross-on-wye is lovely, and theres lovely walks everywhere you go. May 2012.
  2. Lovely garden and comfortable cottage. We were very pleased that our four Border Collies were accepted in the property. April 2012.
  3. Fantastic cottage. Very cosy and extremely dog friendly. We has an amazing time and will be returning for a longer stay. Great location for exploring the Malvern Hills, Forest of Dean. If we had longer we would have visited Gloucester, and many more little market towns. Even though the owner was away, we still had a lovely warm welcome, and the gardener was on hand if we needed anything. The most important thing of course was that our dogs had a fantastic time. April 2012.
  4. Beautiful cottages in a beautiful setting with very helpful friendly owners. Well worth the money, we couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque setting. March 2012.
  5. This cottage was a pleasure to stay in. The owners were very nice and the area remote and quiet. Nice walks with the dogs in the area. March 2012.
  6. Lovely personal touches to the property which made us feel very welcome. Really comfortable bed. Lounge and kitchen area was ideal. Feb 2012.
  7. Lovely cottage, very comfortable and homely. The private garden was great as it meant our dog could come in and out without us worrying about her. The owner also left Bucks Fizz, homemade bread, eggs and Milk- and a treat for our dog - which was a really nice and appreciated touch. Having wifi was also a plus. Oct 2011.
  8. Barley Cottage is in a amazing location, quiet yet on a working farm and excellently situated to visit the Malverns which are within a 10-15 minute drive. Great dog walks on the door step. The cottage is beautifully appointed and clearly much thought has gone into the furnishings and decor. The bed is the most comfortable we have ever slept in on a cottage holiday, and the only real fault we could say was that as the duvet was so thick (winter) we got too hot every night and sadly had poor sleep as a result. Even with the widows fully open with windy/rainy weather we could not cool down. The welcome food and bottle of Buck Fizz was extremely kind and generous of the owners. May 2011.
  9. Barley Cottage is unique with many quirky features, situated in a rural area but very near to major roads to all nearby towns and cities. Was surprised how easy it was to reach such places as Gloucester, Tewksbury and Hereford. Very handy for the forest of Dean with many walks and viewpoints. Excellent propery if you have a dog as the garden is of a good size and enclosed, with your own parking space within the garden. May 2011.
  10. Beautiful cottage that has been tastefully decorated and has everything you need for a lovely relaxing stay. March 2011.
  11. lovely location, just the right size for a cosy week for two. Wood burner defintely required on the colder evenings! March 2011.
  12. Beautifully decorated and well maintained. Dec 2010.
  13. The position, it was stuck in the middle of nowhere and didn’t see anybody nearby the property all weekend and it was pitch black no light pollution. It was ideal for walking and visiting the Forest of Dean, Tewkesbury, etc. The actual accommodation was perfect size for two and very cosy and warm. Nov 2010.
  14. A lot of special touches in the cottage - champagne, home made bread, eggs, star gazer lilies, chocolates on pillows, bottled water in bedroom. Grapes from the vine in the fruit bowl. Cottage very well equipped and welcoming hosts. One bedroom had a cot which we didn’t ask for. Sept 2010.
  15. Beautiful cottage and surroundings, lovely and private. High specification but still felt very homely and warm. Sept 2010.
  16. Fantastic cottage. One of the best we have stayed in. Very clean and tidy and the owners very welcoming. 5* treatment. Sept 2010.
