Property Description

These comfortable, refurbished, barn conversions are situated on this 91-acre working farm, 4 miles from Cardigan Bay, well off the beaten track, with superb views of river and countryside. Accessing the cottages down a half mile of track, each cottage has its own patio (Rose Barn and The Coach House have their own gardens), there is a shared garden and the surrounding farmland is bounded on three sides by rolling terrain. Along the fourth side flows the Teifi – at whose mouth the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path begins. The river’s changeable tidal waters offer free fishing for trout and salmon, and wonderful opportunities for observing abundant bird and wildlife, including otters.
Rosehill Farm’s setting offers the best of both worlds in an outstandingly lovely area – not only the scenic seascapes of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, but also the breathtaking grandeur of the nearby Preseli Mountains. Both coast and countryside offer superb walking and riding, as well as a rich variety of bird, animal and plant life. Long stretches of steep cliffs, small sandy coves and tracts of National Trust land are features of the Pembroke shoreline to be found within 5 miles – and there are many places for swimming or launching small boats. Touring in the area can take in a wide variety of historical sites, including a Bronze Age burial chamber at Cerrig-y-Gof, 13th-century castle ruins at Cilgerran and Newcastle Emlyn and museums of weaving at Maesslyn and Drefach Felindre. Golfers will find a fine 18-hole course only 4 miles away at Gwbert on the Cardigan Bay coast where glorious scenery is an ideal accompaniment to a good game. Organic vegetables are available to purchase when in season. Shops and pub 2 miles.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Superb grounds. Excellent location ideal for children to play safely in extensive garden. River at bottom of the garden offered excellent photography opportunities with the wildlife. Easy access to clean sandy beaches. Ideal centre for exploring the area. Highly recommended for all ages. July 2011.
  2. The conservatory was a bonus, lovely to sit in in the sun and view the beautiful landscape. Aug 2010.
  3. Good size for our family group (3 adults, 3 children - one in cot). Excellent common space leading to fabulous views of River Teifi. Especially for children to play, but also for adult walk in evenings. Cottage had a bedroom downstairs with ensuite bathroom suitable for mobility impaired person (ie. my brother’s broken leg!). Aug 2010.
  4. The cottage is in a beautiful setting overlooking the Teifi river. It is quite isolated and would not suit someone who does not want to be away from it all. There is nothing on site for children though the big lawn and river provided space for fun and games. The local area is super with loads to do whatever the weather. The Jersey cows on the farm next door provide wonderful milk, butter and fudge! July 2010.
  5. Lovely cottage in a really nice location overlooking the river Teifi. The owner was lovely. Cottages were very clean and comfortable. June 2010.
  6. This property is in an ideal location being next to the lovely river Teifi, yet just on the outskirts of Cardigan and close to all the main routes along the coast and inland, so although the cottage is secluded you are not miles from everywhere. The ground floor disabled facilities are exactly what is needed and means I need not take as much equipment to aid my disabled mother as would have to normally, in fact it is because of the disabled facilities at this cottage that we revisit it annually. Judy the owner is the most wonderful person and nothing is too much trouble for her, she is always on hand to make sure everything is running well and that you are enjoying your visit, she does this without being intrusive. May 2010.
  7. Clean, open and spacious with lovely views. Owner fantastic! Oct 2009.
  8. The property was great ideal for our children and the dog the dog loved it the most. The owner was a fantastic lady very helpful nothing was to much trouble. Aug 2009.
  9. The accommodation was of a very high standard of cleanliness, the gardens where well maintained. Situated in a very nice part of wales with lovely scenery and a pictures river at the bottom of the garden with sea bass mullet sea trout and salmon. The accommodation was of a very high standard very clean and spacious. A well equipped kitchen. Very highly recommended. July 2009.
  10. One of the best holidays we have had. April 2009.
  11. Cottage is in an beautiful location on the River Teifi with Cardigan nestled in the distance. Sept 2008.
  12. For a party with a disabled member the facilities were excellent and the addition of the conservatory enabled the disabled member of our party to enjoy views of the river from the cottage and feel they were spending time outdoors. May 2008.
  13. The owner of the property could not have been more helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. April 2007.
  14. Wonderful setting, with direct access to the river Teifi, as it runs down to the sea. Picnic on the river bank and watch the wildlife - spot an otter if you can. July 2006.
