Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Directions to property were good but useful to have the photograph to hand. Aug 2012.
  2. This house and garden are absolutely lovely. Every requirement is fulfilled and then some! Lavenham is a really nice small town and De Vere House is a diamond among gems. The only drawback during our stay was that the weather was not very good but when you are in a house like this you don’t really need to venture very far. We will be back! June 2012.
  3. The cottage was wonderfully located in the heart of Lavenham yet suffered only a little traffic noise. It was a lovely building and very well equipped. Nothing had been forgotten, it was genuinely a home from home. The owners lived in the larger end of the house and the garden adjoined but there was still a private area for sitting out. The welcome pack was definitely above and beyond the call of duty and was much enjoyed. We would recommend (and have recommended) this property to all our friends. March 2012.
  4. Thank you to Jane the house and her welcome was fantasic the best so far !!! Dec 2011.
  5. Thoroughly comfortable stay. We plan to return. Nov 2011.
  6. De Vere House is a fascinating place, full of history, with a very special - almost fairytale like - atmosphere. The owner received me with much kindness; I also appreciated the generous welcome pack. Lavenham is a perfect place for a peaceful holiday; a really beautiful and interesting village surrounded by lovely countryside. Oct 2011.
  7. De Vere House is ideally situated in the lovely village of Lavenham. Jane Ranzetta (the owner) makes visitors feel immediately at ease and the welcome pack provided for us on our arrival was much appreciated. Sept 2011.
  8. This property is magnificent and worthy of its 5 star rating, the house is fantastic and our host was brilliant... A great holiday in a great and inspiring location, second to non in our opinion. June 2011.
  9. The owner was very keen to ensure we had the best possible holiday experience and was available whenever we needed any assistance. The facilities in the property were excellent and with some milk, bread, pastries, jam, etc, already available we were able to settle in at once. Lots of local information on hand as well. July 2011.
  10. We thought the property was exceptional. The contents were amazing and of very high standard. Even though wonderful antiques were everywhere, De Vere house still felt very homely. The facilities are excellent, everything you possibly need has been thought about and provided. We’ve never had such a fantastical, luxurious welcome pack. The welcome we received from Jane, the owner, was second to none. She made us feel like long-lost friends. Lavenham, where De Vere House is situated, is itself an amazing village, with lots of medieval buildings to see and photograph. We have no difficulty, therefore, in recommending De Vere House. May 2011.
  11. We would recommend everybody to visit this property. It is a rare opportunity to stay here and appreciate the history of the house. April 2011.
  12. A relaxing holiday, first class accommodation, lovely garden and the village and surrounding countryside was beautiful. March 2011.
  13. A very nice house; comfortable and very special because of its age in combination with comfort. The town of Lavenham is delightful. Lots of nice things to do in the surroundings. Feb 2011.
  14. A really beautiful house and garden with everything to help give us a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Sept 2010.
  15. Probably one of the most delightful and comfortable cottages I’ve ever stayed in. We took visitors from Australia and they were very impressed. Special mention of the great reception we received on arrival and the very welcome loaves of bread and fresh beans waiting in the kitchen! Sept 2010.
  16. It had all the comforts of home in a really good location. Sept 2010.
  17. A very old well preserved Tudor building. Facilities were good and the location close to the centre of Lavenham was very useful. Aug 2010.
