Property Description

Peacefully located in a small rural farming community and surrounded by beautiful countryside, this comfortable 18th century barn adjoins the owners’ farmhouse. Situated just north of Tebay Gorge in the Howgill Fells, within easy reach of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Eden Valley offering excellent touring, walking and cycling opportunities. The house has been designed upside down to take advantage of the wonderful views from the living room windows. A perfect holiday retreat. Shop 1 mile, pub 3 miles.

Ground floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 bunk with additional single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. First floor: Living room. Dining area. Kitchen.

Electric woodburner in living room included. Economy 7 central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Parking (2 cars). One pet welcome, free of charge, (to be kept under control, sheep country, not allowed downstairs). No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  2. This was a fabulous place to stay. Minutes from the M6 but you would never know it was there. The kitchen had everything you could want for and all other facilities were available. A brilliant place to stay and we will definitely be going back. April 2012.

  4. We are a family of five 3 boys 14, 12, 10 the location is very good between the Lakes and the North Moors - loads of safe cycling and walking routes, with lots of different day trips available. The access from the Motorway Services is very handy if a little tricky the first time. The landlord was very friendly without being in the least bit intrusive - we really enjoyed our week and would gladly recommend it - we were lucky with the weather. April 2011.

  17. The owner has a very friendly dog that we loved but if people don’t like dogs they would have found this a problem. Very friendly and helpful owner. Feb 2009.
  18. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. The owners knew the area well and kept an extensive reference book that included brochures from attractions all over the area. There were enough ideas in this book to keep a family busy for a month! It was really helpful. The bunk beds, and the owner’s dog were a huge hit with our three year old son. At the end of our visit, he didn’t want to go home....come to think of it, neither did we. May 2008.
  19. I felt that the website did not do the cottage justice. We were happy with our choice, but totally amazed when we arrived and saw it for ourselves. The photos on the site undersold the properyy and the description could have been more in-depth, i.e the amazing views, the peaceful atmosphere. Also the 2 mile of country road to get there, it was perfectly secluded to really spend quality time with friends/family yet with a car was close to the major visitor attractions, supermarkets, country pubs etc. Also the owners were wonderful, they went out of their way to help us to find a nice spot for our bbq and to find somewhere to play ball games. Nothing was too much trouble and cheerfully done. May 2008.
  20. This newly refurbished property exceeded expectations. All items inside were clean, fresh and new with everything we needed to hand... including electric blankets. We’ll definitely be booking this accommodation again. Feb 2008.
