Property Description

These attractive holiday properties lie in the peaceful conservation village of Colerne, surrounded by rolling countryside. The Grade II* listed stable conversion (PFFH) is part of the only longhouse in Wiltshire and dating back to the 13th century, is the oldest house in the village. Beautifully refurbished to offer all modern conveniences, yet retains charm and character. Sympathetically converted, the detached, single-storey barn (PHHF) offers light and airy, contemporary accommodation. Colerne has a good selection of shops and pubs but only a short bus journey, 7 miles, will take you into Bath and Chippenham. Within easy reach of Bristol, Bradford-on-Avon and the much-filmed villages of Lacock and Castle Combe. Great area for walking. Shop 200 yards, family pub and restaurant 10 yards.

Living/dining room with vaulted ceiling, wood-burning stove and patio doors leading to own garden. Well-equipped kitchen area. Double bedroom with patio doors leading to another garden. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Wooden floor and beams throughout.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A fantastically appointed barn with lots of little extra’s to welcome you. Set in a lovely village in wonderfully convenient location. A pleasure to spend time in or get back to at the end of a day exploring the surroundings. May 2012.
  2. Lovely, light cottage, rather exposed but very comfortable. Lovely welcome, owners and with friendly dogs. Our dogs loved running around and checking out the apples! Oct 2011.
  3. Great locations, lots of activities close by. The Kennett and Avon canal is superb, well worth hiring a narrow boat. For the price the property was excellent with a good attention to detail. July 2011.
  4. The owners were very welcoming. The two dogs Woody & Thumper were wonderful and very friendly. The standard of the cottage was very high and very comfortable. We have never stayed in the grounds of the owners home but it was fine. Rather than just WIFI connection there was a computer which was brilliant. We would definately stay there again. July 2011.
  5. Very good accommodation, all on one floor which was excellent for my elderly grandmother. Our dog loved the place because the garden is fenced and walled in, so he could run around outside. Fresh flowers and eggs, milk etc were a lovely touch. The photos on the website do not show the full extent of the garden and looking at other comments on feedback we did not feel overlooked, more safe I would say. May 2011.
  6. The property was excellent. The hosts were friendly and helpful. May 2011.
  7. Very comfortable, well equipped property, couldn’t fault it! May 2011.
  8. Excellent base to explore from. Feb 2011.
  9. Fantastic cottage in a lovely setting. All mod cons. Dec 2010.
  10. Well equipped, not very private. Nov 2010.
  11. Excellent accommodation, very well equipped with lots of little extras that were really appreciated. The owners were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The location was a good from which to explore the area. July 2010.
  12. Very comfortable, quiet, in a nice place (nice village). Very good service quality. July 2010.
  13. Convenient for trips to Bath. Location close to Restaurant/pub, excellent grounds for relaxing. June 2010.
  14. Property was modern and light and airy. Particularly liked the gas cooker! Very quiet and peaceful. April 2010.
  15. Although the property is situated within the owners grounds, it offers privacy, peace and quiet. The gardens must be lovely during the summer months. All fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and consequently it has a kind of designer feel whilst retaining a comfortable, homely atmosphere. The property has a light, airy feel to it. The kitchen had all the utensils and appliances needed for our short break, but I’m sure the owners would be most helpful should future guests need additional bits and pieces we found the owners to be friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. Master bedroom a really good size, more than adequate storage space. Both bedrooms have an external door, which will be useful in summer particularly in the smaller bedroom as the room did get very hot due to the large windows. Bed linen and towels were all high quality. An excellent location for exploring the regions attractions. A beautiful property, in equally beautiful surroundings. March 2010.
  16. Lovely, clean, lots of windows which let in lots of natural light. March 2010.
  17. Good quality items throughout the property. March 2010.
  18. It was a lovely cottage with everything we needed and had underfloor heating which was great for the time of year we went. Feb 2010.
