Property Description

Superb views

Dairy Cottage is part of the original Fort Putnam which is a listed folly. The folly was built by the Duke of Norfolk as one of a number of unusual dwellings on the Greystoke Estate. Standing in grounds that command superb views of Saddleback, the Eden Valley and Lake District National Park, within the sympathetically redeveloped fort, it enjoys comfortable accommodation and use of a peaceful open-plan garden. An ideal holiday base for exploring the Northern lakes and fells, with the pretty village of Greystoke close by. Shop and pub 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. Utility room. 2 bedrooms:1 double, 1 single with additional stow under single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Gas central heating and gas included May to August (£50per week, £35 per short break September-April). Electricity and bed linen included. Towel hire. DVD. CD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Garden and furniture. Parking (2 cars). Use of two adult bikes. No smoking.

  14. A cottage that the owners care about, and understand that people who book a cottage for a week need a comfortable bed, good quality furniture to sit in and eat at, and a good kitchen with cook ware that is suitable to cook casseroles, for those of us who do not want to eat out. Feb 2010.
  15. We found Dairy Cottage excellent, it was clean and lovely and warm when outside was snowy and freezing cold. The rooms were well appointed and all the beds, furniture clean and very comfortable. The kitchen had a good sized fridge freezer and plenty of equipment to use during our stay. Parking was excellent for 2 cars and the garden although basic gave us breath taking views from the back of the cottage. There was a fantastic pub in the village of Greystoke which served excellent food and drinks. We are booking for next year 2011 because it was one of the most outstanding places were the cottage was warm and very welcoming we have been to other cottages that were clean and nice but had very little heat on, which made the stay a little less enjoyable. But with this cottage you were able to have a warm and comfortable stay. Cannot wait till next year! Feb 2010.
