Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A really comfortable, cosy cottage, very well presented, friendly owner, lovely grounds. The village boasted a very well stocked store, artisan bakery and several pubs for meals out. Lots of places to visit within a reasonable drive from East Bergholt. June 2012.
  2. Received a warm welcome with welcome package of flowers, wine and chocolates. Very pleasant, quiet and peaceful location, good parking. All in all, a very enjoyable holiday in very comfortable surroundings. May 2012.
  3. Cutler’s Cottage is a very well appointed and comfortable cottage. It is spacious and more than adequate for two people. The cottage is quite close to the owners home but they were very friendly and struck the right balance between being approachable and discrete. The cottage is on the outskirts of East Bergholt. We found it easier to drive into the village and then explore on foot. May 2012
  4. Splendid cottage in an ideal location for walking in North Essex and South Suffolk. We especially enjoyed the wildlife in the garden with its pond, including rabbits, green woodpeckers and ducks. March 2012.
  5. Wasn’t so much a holiday as accommodation for visit to the UK to visit family. Cutlers Cottage was ideal for our requirements and the owner was very hospitable. Dec 2011.
  6. The location of this cottage is ideal for Constable country as Flatford Mill is only a 30 minute walk or 5 minutes by car. Dunwhich nature reserve and Southwold Quay a must visit and so is Brightlinsea. Very friendly people who own the cottage and offer the use of their extensive grounds. Sept 2011.
  7. Absolutely superb location and cottage. Wendy, the owner, was very friendly upon our arrival, giving us information on places to visit. The cottage was well equipped, Wendy had even left fresh milk in the fridge for us. Would definitely recommend this place to all. Aug 2011.
  8. Property was beautifully clean, bed was very comfortable, TV was good quality and shower was excellent. July 2011.
  9. Cosy, comfortable, well equipped cottage in ideal location for touring Constable country and South Suffolk/Essex coast. Ideal cottage for a couple. April 2011.
  10. Very well appointed with good quality fittings. Sept 2010.
  11. Quiet situation, friendly owners, small but well laid out, plenty of information about the area. Sept 2010.
  12. Perfectly adequate and met our needs, 2 of us there for the holiday but we accommodated 4 when our son visited. June 2010.
  13. Comfortable, spacious, well equipped and in a lovely part of Suffolk. April 2010.
  14. A lovely cottage which had everything we needed, in a good location. Homely touches made it all the more welcoming - tea, coffee and milk all available, not to mention chocolates, flowers and wine! Plenty of fluffy towels and good quality bed linen - all important! Sept 2009.
  15. The accommodation, although small, was first class. Warm and comfortable, it had everything we required and was one of the best stocked cottages we have ever stayed in, both in the facilities and in the information provided. Sept 2009.
  16. The owner was flexible about arrival times and also about dates. She had made the accommodation look welcoming with flowers both in the main room and the bedroom, and also left a bottle of wine, chocolates and milk in the fridge. The village store was well stocked so there would be no need to travel far for supplies. Both East Burgholt and nearby Dedham were lovely villages and had good afternoon tea shops and buildings worth exploring e.g. the churches. Flatford Mill, virtually on the doorstep was wonderful and the information centre, National Trust shop, tea room and exhibition all great. Lovely to visit in the spring when the trees were not in leaf as it made the views of Constable’s paintings more accessible. Apparently it is very picturesque in the autumn too, so this makes it a good area to visit for a short autumn or spring break. March 2009.
  17. The owners were helpful but weren’t intrusive. July 2009.
  18. Quality of the furnishing was a high standard. Jan 2009.
  19. We thought the accommodation was very comfortable and appreciated the extra goodies our hosts left. June 2008.
  20. Fantastic place - very peaceful and relaxing. April 2006.
