Property Description

Situated on a headland overlooking Husabost Bay, this traditional detached cottage enjoys dramatic unrestricted views across Loch Dunvegan. The captivating scenery includes Scotland’s only coral sands, Dunvegan Castle - the home of the Clan Macleod - the mountain ranges of the Macleods Tables, and the world famous Cuillins. Fine walks can be enjoyed from the house and sightings of birds of prey and seals are extremely common. Museums galleries, organised boat trips and excellent restaurants including the renowned Three Chimneys can be found locally. Shop 3 miles.

  3. Cottage is situated in quite a remote position and holiday makers must be prepared to travel quite a few miles if they wish to do a lot of sight visiting round the island. It pays to keep the car fuel tank well filled. June 2012.

  5. We had an amazing holiday in Cuillin View cottage - it was perfect in every way, especially the view, the location and the log fire. Arriving on cold dark November evening to the lamps being on, fire already lit and a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge was really appreciated. Skye beautiful. Thank you to the owners. Oct 2011.

  7. Excellent location and property for a couple looking for a cosy home from home comfort. Lovely views over Loch Leverne and good country walks. There is a very good resturant a short drive away making this a very good choice for a romantic break for two and being able to have the dog with us made our stay a complete joy! Aug 2011.
  8. Well appointed cottage. The view is unsurpassed. Very nice to have a washer/dryer in Scotland. The dryer is a big bonus in that climate. July 2011.
  9. The cottage was clean and well equipped, it is very remote which is just what we wanted, but the downside to that is that it takes a while to get to many places of interest. One issue we did find, and were unable to resolve, was an unusual smell in the kitchen area, we never did find out what was causing it. A word of advice - make sure you don’t leave filling your car up until a Sunday because it is very diffcult to find a petrol station on a Sunday. Also, if you need to get money go to the Post Office in Dunvegan where it is free, if you go to the shop you will be charged £1.74. We ate out on a number of occasions, and the food was always very nice, but I would particularly recommend the Loch Bay seafood restaurant in the village of Stein. I could go on, but suffice to say that we were very impressed with Skye, it’s a beautiful place and the location of this cottage was perfect for complete relaxation. July 2011.
  10. Cuillin View is by far the best property we have ever stayed at. This was our second visit and it will not be the last. The location is perfect, overlooking Loch Dunvegan. Total peace and quiet. The cottage is so warm and comfortable. It should have a five star award in any ones view. June 2011.
  11. This cosy cottage is in a beautiful remote location and is well equipped with everything needed for a perfect holiday. Dunvegan is a short drive. There is a shop and post office the other side of Glendale, a delightful 3 mile walk away. Weather on Skye can change quite quickly but as they say there is no bad weather just the wrong clothes. Skye on a sunny day is close to heaven. June 2011.

  13. We had a fabulous holiday at Cuillin View. The cottage is spotless, comfortably and attractively furnished and with the fire and heaters it was wonderfully warm and cosy in winter. It’s really well appointed; the owners have thought to provide lots of extras so it has everything you could want. The small fully-fenced yard was great for our wee westie to mooch about in off lead (but not on his own of course!). The location is incredibly quiet and peaceful with a view that changed all the time. We never tired of just looking out the windows. It is quite out-of-the-way, so if you want to explore the whole island this may not be the cottage for you. But if you want to escape, just walk and wander during the day and hibernate at night, then Cuillin View is perfect. Oct 2010.

  17. A very charming and welcoming cottage. The property was located quite far away from other parts of the island we wanted to visit so we had to drive great distances to get to most places. However, Dunvegan is very lovely and there were places of interest to explore near to the property as well. Aug 2010.
  18. Fantastic views of Loch Dunvegan and the Cuillens. The house was clean, well appointed, and attractively decorated. The small size was perfect for two, with plenty of room to get comfortable. Our priorities when looking for a house are a shower and a working fireplace, this had both and they were great. We fully intend to rebook for next year. July 2010.
