Property Description

Roughly equidistant between the north and south coasts of Gower, Three Crosses lies in Britain’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and forms the setting for these lovingly renovated, listed 18th-century properties which have won prestigious awards, namely the Lord Mayor Design Award, Wales regional winner for Built in Quality Design Award and the Gower Society Award. Originally comprising the buildings of the only farm in the village, they offer holiday accommodation of a very high standard, blending modern facilities with old world charm, have wi-fi internet access, and lie close to the 18th-century village pub serving good food.
Stretching from the pretty thriving village of Mumbles on the western edge of Swansea Bay, the south coast offers many opportunities for water sports, with beautiful sandy beaches further along the coast to the jewel of Rhossilli, and a 22-mile coastal path rewards walkers with some of the most stunning scenery in Wales. Taking on a more wild and rugged look, the north coast stretches from Llangennith along miles of deserted sandy beaches, and follows the Loughor Estuary. Beautiful walks abound in inland Gower, which boasts three Norman castles, and spectacular views of the north and south coasts can be admired from Cefyn Bryn – the spine of Gower. The Rhossilli Downs overlook the beach towards Worms Head – reached by a causeway at low tide. Home to 4 golf courses (one a few hundred yards from Crwys Farm), Gower also has surfing beaches at Llangennith and Langland, pony trekking and excellent fishing. For a change of tempo, the city of Swansea beckons. Home of Dylan Thomas, Swansea (with its cinema, bowling, indoor leisure facilities) has the largest indoor market in Wales and boasts an excellent maritime quarter containing the Welsh Maritime Museum, as well Plantasia. Travelling west towards the rugby town of Llanelli, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust is a must for bird-watchers, and the Millennium Coastal Park makes an excellent cycling venue, leading to Pembrey Country Park, with woodland and 7-mile sandy beach. Further afield are Cardiff, Tenby, Dan yr Ogof Caves and the Brecon Beacons, with the Pembrokeshire coast also easily accessible. Shop 500 yards.

Adjoins The Dairy, with views of Gower countryside. Living room with electric woodburner, French door to garden, patio. Well-equipped modern fitted kitchen/dining room. Shower room and toilet. Wooden staircase (with child gate at top and bottom) to first floor: Double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Beamed throughout.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Super cottage so clean and comfortable and so many little personal touches like the welcome pack. Great location and beautiful country side , will be going back! August 2012.
  2. Really great place, beautifully decorated and immaculate. The spiral staircase could be tricky for elderly and very young children. Well situated, approx 20 mins from the beaches. easy reach of good sightseeing trips. Shops relatively near by. Would recommend a holiday here. May 2012.
  3. Fantastic house, clean and spacious. Cosy and well equipped. Enjoyed a lovely week. Feb 2012.
  4. This was a really lovely place to stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated and cared for. Everything you could need for a self catering holiday was provided plus it was warm and cosy. As it was New Year there was a decorated tree plus loads of goodies including bubbly, chocolates, mince pies, flowers and milk in the fridge. Would highly recommend!! Dec 2011.
  5. A brilliant location right in the middle of all the places to go in the Gower and close enough to Swansea when the weather was bad. Accommodation brilliant, the trick is to seek out the quieter hidden bays. Oct 2011.
  6. This property is well furnished and very comfortable. It is also well located for day trips around Gower and to other parts of South Wales, including Swansea and Cardiff (and my cousins in Three Crosses). We had previously stayed next door in The Dairy which is part of the same farm complex. Mr. and Mrs. Rees have done an excellent job of decorating and maintaining both properties and are very attentive to questions and needs. We look forward to staying there in the future. Oct 2011.
  7. Ideally placed for everywhere in the Gower and for brief forays out into the mainland. The local shop was excellent at keeping back our daily paper. Cycling enthusiast at the local TIC gave good information for cyclists. There are coastal tracks on the north and south coasts. The house itself was just right for us. A beautiful place to be in and the welcome pack of chocs and wine and the fresh flowers made it good from the moment we arrived. We could have stayed longer with no trouble at all! Oct 2011.
  8. This property was excellent value for money. The surprise of a bottle of champagne, chocs and welsh cakes were fabulous, especially as we celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary whilst in Wales. I would definitely recommend this to other people. Sept 2011.
  9. Very tastefully furnished. Bathrooms were very clean - an important point I feel. Spiral staircase OK, but a bit of problem when taking suitcases upstairs. Parking for 2 cars ideal. The Gower is a beautiful area. Can’t wait to go back again. June 2011.
  10. Excellent value for money - very comfortable - very clean - friendly owners. Restored our faith in your cottages! May 2011.
  11. The Granary is a wonderful cottage with everything you need for a perfect holiday. Lots of information, the bedrooms were great, 2 bathrooms though you can’t use both showers at the same time as the water pressure drops!! That would be the only negative, absolutely everything else was fabulous. Choccies and bubbles were a really nice extra touch. Would book again if we were heading that way. March 2011.
  12. The welcome we received was great. The place was tidy and clean and well furnished. Dec 2010.
  13. Cottage very clean and well equipped. Generous welcome pack much appreciated. Oct 2010.
  14. Style, situation, flowers - finalist in Gower in bloom, garden upkeep. July 2010.
  15. Delightful, really homely but with the attention to detail that makes the difference, everything surrounding the property showed care, decoration, the welsh cakes, chocolates, tea, coffee, milk, champagne, quality furnishings, the absolutely delightful tubs and flowers surrounding the property - even tea towels were provided although the dishwasher was there! We didn’t even need to have brought hand soap! July 2010.
  16. Everything about the Granary was excellent. The property was very clean, well equipped and every attention to everything was first class. The owners were very helpful and friendly. July 2010.
  17. Well thought out (ie permanent stair gate fitted, 2nd shower room) decoration and finish superb. Well equipped. Beautifully presented. June 2010.
  18. Good location, brilliantly renovated, tastefully decorated, equipped for all eventualities. To be honest I can not say enough positive things about The Granary. March 2010.
  19. Bottle of champagne and welsh cakes on arrival, a very nice touch. Very clean and well presented. March 2010.
  20. The standard & cleanliness at this property is excellent and all the welcoming touches make it very homely. Feb 2010.
