Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Fabulous location despite the steep walk back up the hill from the village. Great views. On arrival flowers, coffee and milk for us, this is a lovely touch. Would definitely visit again. Sept 2012.
  2. Lovely position. Clean and welcoming. June 2012.
  3. Excellent location with a wonderful view of Staithes. Need to be quite fit to make the walk back from Staithes harbour but it’s all worth it! May 2012.
  4. The cottage is set on the hillside overlooking the town with a view of the sea. The accommodation is first rate and felt like a real home from home. The owners had ensured that there were adequate provisions such as loo roll and firewood to get us settled in. When we left it had snowed and we had difficulty getting up the hill in the car, however, locals from the nearby cottages lent a hand and helped us on our way. Many, many thanks to the good people of Staithes you really are true Samaritans. I would definitely revisit this cottage. Feb 2012.
  5. Peaceful location with panoramic view over a small scenic fishermans village. Tastfully furnished and well equipped. July 2011.
  6. This is a wonderful cottage in a superb position: great views on de harbour of Staithes. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. The supermarket is nearby and the surrounding offers a lot of opportunities: hiking to Roseberry Topping, visiting Whitby Abbey or riding on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. July 2011.
  7. The property was home from home. Wonderful views, able to sit in the garden or the court yard to have tea and enjoy the weather if you didn’t want to walk down to the beck. Aug 2010.
  8. Great cottage in an amazing spot just above the village, quite spot with fabulous view! April 2010.
  9. Beauatiful situation, great views, short walk to pubs, shops etc. March 2010.
  10. Prominent position overlooking the harbour with a real fire on the cold evenings detached but not remote. Feb 2010.
  11. Location. Jan 2010.
  12. Characterful, comfortable and spacious. Dec 2009.
  13. Wonderful views to die for. Lovely open fire. Needs some general maintenance (eg bathroom wallpaper peeling). Dec 2009.
  14. Attention to detail was excellent. The owners seemed to have thought about most eventualities and were keen to know of any omissions (which there weren’t). A friendly chat on our first morning allowed them to speak to us and for us to find out about our surroundings. Nov 2009.
  15. Wonderful - with some extra touches such as milk, biscuits, kitchen paper etc all left for us, and plenty of wood for the fire. Owner called round on Sunday to check everything was ok. Oct 2009.
  16. The Crow’s Nest is really cosy in the evening with the open fire crackling away and it’s a short walk down the hill to the Cod & Lobster for a pint or the excellent Bistro for a meal. Sept 2009.
  17. Fantastic location with superb views of the town & bay. Clean & comfortable. Sept 2009.
  18. Stunning view looking down over Staithes to harbour, sea and cliffs.Magical location. Sept 2009.
  19. The cottage was in the perfect place, just away from the village. Very nice, just as your website said. Aug 2009.
  20. A very comfortable property, in which we felt quite ’at home’. It is peaceful, and has good views. Aug 2009.
