Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The cottage is quaint and cosy with a most wonderfully comfortable bed. The views of the river Derwent are outstanding and the walks around Cockermouth are straight from the door. A big thank you goes to the owners who were extremely helpful. Sept 2012.
  2. A really lovely romantic cottage. If you love old cottages with reams of history attached to it then this is the one for you. There are lots of ornaments and pictures that will tempt anyones delight. It is warm and cosy and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. Cockermouth is a lovely place with lovely shops and all of the amenities that you could wish for. Not far from Keswick or the seaside. This is one for walkers as all of the hills that are good for walking are right on your doorstep and if you feel like staying local there are plenty of local walks to tempt you. Overall my stay was excellent and i will definitely go there again. Oct 2011.
  3. Great location a lovely riverside walk 2 minutes away and at the top of the high street for all the shops and restaurants. Yes stairs are a bit steep but cottage had all we needed and we found it very comfortable. Would recommend. Aug 2011.
  4. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cockermouth and area and would recommend it to anyone. The cottage is just as described (and yes the stairs are steep but managable) and Mr and Mrs Snowden very friendly and helpful. Despite no immediate parking at the property the parking with visitor permit in the nearby street was no problem. July 2011.
  5. Everything that was needed was there. The stairs could be a problem if not so agile. Cockermouth great location for Cumbria and owners and people of the town very nice. The local produce is to die for. June 2011.
  6. Good location. Jan 2011.
  7. Very cosy, excellent situation. Sept 2010.
  8. We found it cosy, everything was provided for all our needs. The stairs were steep, although they didn’t pose a problem, the occasional bang on the head made us laugh. The owners of the property were very helpful, friendly but did not bother us. Sept 2010.
  9. We liked the friendliness of the owner and the overall feeling of comfort. Aug 2010.
  10. Very welcoming, great views over river, enjoyed our stay as this was a very relaxing place and most enjoyable. Easy to go to other places in the Lake District. June 2010.
  11. The property was clean and cosy, it had everything you need including towels, even milk in the fridge for your refreshment. It was in an ideal situation to get to shops, restaurants, pubs etc. Sept 2009.
  12. Lovely and cosy and picture in brochure/website didn’t really do justice to how nice it actually was. Might be worth noting how busy the main road is as could make loading/unloading your car at start and end of holiday a bit tricky. Also, the steepness of the stairs could cause problems for some people, although mention is made of the fact that they’re open tread, it’s actually the steepness and the low "beam" above that are the problem ... poor hubby bashed his head twice ! Sept 2009.
  13. Good views across the river Derwent. A real cottage full of charm and interesting ornaments/furnishings. Aug 2009.
  14. The property was well kept, a delightful home from home, near to shops, central for all amenities. Everything was provided even down to face cloths and soap a most unusual but well equipped property. The way it felt like home from home, the fresh vase of flowers to welcome us there and the general nick knack ornaments around the place that made it home. July 2009.
  15. The owners and everyone we met couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly, especially owner and his two gorgeous dogs. May 2009.
  16. Lovely quaint cottage with very friendly and helpful owners. Dog loved it to! July 2008.
  17. Suerb location every need catered for, lovely feel to the cottage. June 2008.
  18. It was situated in an ideal town for the Lake district with good roads to all locations and plenty of shops within easy walking distant including two supermarkets. The owners were very warm and helpful without interfering. They were very nice people. Aug 2006.
