Crabadon Manor - Crabadon Manor

| Ref: HOA
Grade 3 Star rating

Just imagine being the lord and lady of the manor house for the week! This is exactly what you can experience here when you book your holiday at Crabadon Manor and Lilly Pond Cottage. This 14th-century manor house was a one-time summer retreat for the monks at Buckfast Abbey until the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII in around 1532. This beautiful old house is steeped in history and full of family heirlooms and antiques. The magnificent dining room has a huge inglenook fireplace and really is a lovely room for entertaining. For a larger family or a group of friends looking for something quite unique, Crabadon Manor (ref HOA) could be the choice for you. Peacefully set in a secluded wooded valley, the property dates back to the 14th century – ideal for family gatherings for special occasions or a group of friends hosting a party, or simply, a relaxing week in the heart of rural south Devon. To the front of the manor, is a lovely terraced country garden, complete with furniture, and it is the perfect place for a picnic or al fresco dining on a sunny afternoon, with wisteria swathed across the front of the house. On the lawn with fruit trees and where wildlife flourishes, there are far-reaching views over open countryside and beyond. To the rear of the house, set in the lawn, is a gorgeous lily pond, where Lily Pond Cottage (ref H77) is located, a detached stone cosy cottage sleeping up to four people. Both Lily Pond Cottage and Crabadon Manor enjoy a splendid position, quite remote in location, off the beaten track and tucked away in the heart of the South Hams countryside, the most southerly part of Devon. Shops 3 miles.
