Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The property sits in small village, on a small farm. There are lots of cats and two horses. The Marne River is a short walk down the lane that runs past the barn. The best restaurant in the region is a quarter mile away. There are several other excellent restaurants within five minutes. Paris is an hour by train out of Chateau Thierry; Reims is 30 minute or so ride up the road. There are wonderful things to see in all directions. Nov 2011.
  2. Thanks again. This was excellent for a small family. Our host was most pleasant and her English impeccable, she was very informative about the local area and the attractions available. It was a very well equipped cottage wanting for nothing in cutlery, crockery or equipment. We may go back. Aug 2011.
  3. Two stays in this property now and will return again. Nearly perfect for couples, with solid restaurants and wonderful countryside surrounding. Easy from CDG, too. The owners are superb, speak fluent English and are enormously helpful, particularly if you’re interested in history, culture and food. July 2011.
  4. The property is lovely and very well maintained. Monique is a mine of information, and more than willing to help with anything you need to know. It is definitely the best accommodation we have stayed in so far, and will definitely be returning. There are so many places to visit that are within easy reach such as Reims, Epernay and Chateau Thierry. June 2011.
  5. Well located for seeing the area. The owner who speaks very good English was very welcoming and a mine of information about the region. Would have been a very good holiday were it not for the fact that it rained for five of our seven days. June 2011.
  6. The principal owner Monique taught English in the community for many years, and speaks it with a British lilt. She’s 72-years-old, utterly delightful and a walking encyclopedia of French everything. The property itself is impeccable, but you better like cats. There are horses, too, pastures, a river, a 13th c. church and lots of places to walk and learn. There are also three solid restaurants within a few minutes, including one with a Michelin star. Nov 2010.
  7. Liked - comfort, position, parking, helpful/friendly owner. April 2010.
  8. Authentic old world French farm cottage, lots of history and character. There are cats on site and we didn’t mind as we love them! Owner, Monique, is wonderful and a mine of information on the area and speaks perfect English - she used to teach English. The interior of the cottage is really nice, with large and very pretty bedrooms and a lovely big bath to relax in at the end of the day. The garden is well equipped with chairs, tables and loungers, we were lucky to have cloudless skies the entire week. On arrival, a large jug of fresh flowers was there to greet us along with a bag full of local chocolates, a very nice touch. Pity there were no local shops or means of transport so, as we had to drive to places all week, the holiday was not as relaxing as we had hoped. Aug 2009.
  9. The owners are very friendly, helpful and informative and concerned that you have a good holiday. May 2009.
  10. Beautiful Location. The owner, Monique, speaks fluent English and has a wealth of knowledge about the area. We were made very welcome hope to return soon. June 2009.
  11. The owners both speak English and are so helpful. Sept 2008.
  12. The owners are very welcoming and speak excellent English. They are also very knowledgeable about the Champagne region and offer good advice on where to visit. May 2008.
  13. The owner was an absolute gem, she spoke excellent English and was extremely helpful. June 2007.
  14. Brilliant host full of useful information and perfect location to do a lot. July 2007.
  15. A very nice home with very friendly owner living next door who did her best to be helpful in every way without intruding. June 2007.
