Set in the heart of village life, Court Prior Farm is a lively working farm where lambs are in the pastures, cattle graze in the fields and the smell of the hay fills the air. In season guests may be able to bottle feed the lambs or feed the bullocks. Elderflower Barn (HDDI) and Cowslip Barn (HDDJ) have been converted from the old milking parlour and retain lovely original features, such as stone arch windows, and both have heavy beams and wooden floors. Each holiday property has a good sized lawned rear garden with pretty planted flower tubs and farming machinery decorating the driveway completes these two lovely adjoining properties. All three properties including Pear Tree House (HGGD) combine modern elements such as underfloor heating, vaulted open ceilings, wood-burning stoves and a farmhouse-style kitchen with granite worktops. Shared swimming pool, hot tub and sauna.
Court Prior Farm has an indoor heated swimming pool shared by all properties, with its own shower and pool house with sauna. A hot tub is situated on the terrace amongst the pretty landscaping for all properties to share. All properties have their own changing room, toilet and access into the pool, via their own private patio areas. Elderflower Barn has a large patio area to the side with specimen trees planted into large tubs giving an almost Mediterranean feel. All three properties may be booked together for a wonderful family gathering to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary.
These three holiday properties would make a super location for a winter break, as well as a summer holiday enjoying the many glorious beaches of the South Devon coastline all within easy driving distance. Blackpool Sands is a fantastic family beach just 4 miles away, has a small shop and facilities as well as ample parking, and makes a lovely day out by the seaside. Slapton Sands is a lovely drive, with the sea on one side and the freshwater lagoon on the other. This area is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the birds and wildlife on the lagoon are amazing, so remember to bring a pair of binoculars. A little further along, the relic of the World War One tank can be recovered from the beach. Driving along inland a little way leads to the town of Kingsbridge.
Alternatively guests may enjoy visiting Dartmouth or Totnes, both just 4 miles away and both quite different. Totnes is a lively colourful town, full of different types of ethnic shops, and hosts a busy market day on Fridays and Saturdays. Dartmouth, nestling on the edge of the river Dart, has a strong maritime history and many designer shops and local artists. For great food the famous New Angel is located in Dartmouth, and is the ideal place for a special meal out. More local to the property is the village of Cornworthy - a quiet hamlet tucked away in the rolling Devon landscape - where there is a nice pub within walking distance which serves good food and real ales. There are many village pubs dotted all around this area including places to eat on the river at Tuckenhay, Ashprington and Dittisham. Shop (in pub) 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

  2. This property was amazing, the owners were wonderful hosts, very child and family friendly, loads to do whatever the weather, and I love the location! The place was very well thought out, and attention to detail in the whole farm was meticulous. The pool was great and getting up to feed lambs and calves in morning was a huge added bonus.   3. If you’re looking for peace and quiet - this is the place for you. Cornworthy is off the beaten track but still fairly close, easy driving distance to large towns of Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge although narrow Devon lanes involved. Pub eateries close by. Property excellently maintained - good size swimming pool, hot tub etc. Dave and Jane make you feel very welcome and Dave involves the kids at animal feeding time - it makes their stay. We found a great little Restaurant in Strete, only 25 minutes away -the Laughing Monk - recommended, good food, friendly staff. Dog owners - ask Jane for dog friendly beach locations. Excellent day out had at Strete Bank. WiFi connection. Aug 2011.

  10. This is a very spacious property. It is tastefully decorated to a very high standard and did not feel like a holiday cottage, more a home from home. The kitchen had every possible gadget & utensil you would need during your stay, there were instructions available for everything. The under floor heating throughout the property and wood burning stove in the lounge was fantastic especially as our break was in February. Both bedrooms were en-suite, the master bedroom was first class. Feb 2010.

  14. Excellent quality of accommodation, and owners fantastic with the children (rides on the tractor, and interaction with the farm). Main bedroom excellent. Indoor Pool/hot tub excellent, but very slippery around pool area. Route to pool involves a significant flight of steps - again not easy for someone with mobility problems (we used neighbouring cottage path which avoided the steps). Garden and privacy very good. Second bedroom was fine with 2 young children (4 and 8), but would be small for older children. Stairs awkward for person with balance or mobility issues (my wife has MS and the stairs are very difficult to negotiate). July 2009.
