Property Description

This charming holiday cottage, once part of Water Yeat Mill and adjoining the owners’ cottage, has a wonderful vaulted ceiling and feature fireplace with woodburner in the living room. Stylishly converted and furnished it provides a superb base to explore the southern lakes. For walking enthusiasts the Old Man of Coniston and the Langdales are a short drive away or enjoy some beautiful walks from the front door. Also a good base for cycling. For a more leisurely pursuit explore the delightful village of Coniston. Shops 41/2 miles, pub 11/2 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room with beams. Kitchen. 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Wooden floors throughout.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Economy 7 central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freesat TV. DVD and small library. Electric cooker. Microwave. Laundry service (at cost). Dishwasher. Freezer. Patio and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  2. Although small, the cottage wonderful for the two of us and our dog. It was very much a home from home with everything we could have wanted from a woodburning stove and a wonderful bathroom. It was wonderfully quiet, although only a stone’s throw from a main road (not very busy). Great walks began just outside the door. Oct 2012.

  5. Corn Cottage is a lovely traditional property. It is slightly remote, but this makes for a peaceful break. The cottage itself is well equipped and the owners have put a lot of extra thought into it. The owners live next door and were very welcoming. We went for Christmas and it was bliss. Would definitely go again. Dec 2011.

  7. The cottage was excellent and very convenient for the S. Lakes. It was quiet but only yards from the main road through to Coniston and the local bus stopped yards from the cottage. Lots of local walks , close to Coniston lake and plenty of places to visit, like John Ruskin’s House on the East side of the lake. Good boat services across the lake close to hand in conjunction with the local bus. June 2011.
