Property Description

This is a beautiful example of a half timbered house with open aspect to the rear, overlooking the Shropshire countryside and the spot where Corfton Castle used to stand. The good-sized kitchen area has French windows at the far end of the dining area that go directly out onto a large slabbed patio area, and all bedrooms have their own bathroom. Situated on the Craven Arms to Bridgenorth road, the area is an excellent base from which to enjoy the wonders of Shropshire.
Nearby Tugford has numerous walking and cycling routes, while Church Stretton is within easy driving distance where the beautiful Cardingmill Valley is perfect for a picnic or walking. Shropshire boasts many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and National Trust properties, as well as the Glider Centre on the delightful Long Mynd. Ludlow, famous for its ‘Michelin-star’ eating houses, quaint cobbled streets and medieval castle, hosts the Ludlow Festival in June and July, and also provides a leisure centre - great for entertaining children. Further places of interest include Bridgnorth, Ironbridge, Blists Hill and the Wenlock Edge. Much Wenlock offers a 12th-century priory and antique market. Younger children can enjoy an indoor play barn just outside Craven Arms or Acton Scott Working Farm Museum. Further afield are Offa’s Dyke, Hay-on-Wye and the Welsh Black Mountains. Fishing, golf and horse riding are popular activities in the area. Shop 4 miles.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The only downside was the fairly busy road (not at night) which was being resurfaced whilst we were there. Lovely back terrace above the garden, with views and BBQ. Very well equipped. Probably won’t return, because we have relatives in the area - this was a one-off big family gathering. June 2011.
  2. Mr. Griffiths, the owner, is an excellent host. Friendly, helpful and interesting with information about the locality. Without doubt, this is the best accomodation that we have had through your company. May 2011.
  3. A beautiful house, lots of wood and creaking floors. Noisy door latches that woke everyone up. Not much comfort. Spotlessly clean. Very well equipped kitchen. Very amenable and helpful owner. May 2010.
  4. Very clean property, warm and welcoming. Feb 2010.
  5. The fact that three of the bedrooms had their own en-suite. Lovely for us as we were three couples. It was spacious and very very clean. An excellent kitchen with loads of space. We were glad we didn’t have young children as we had no idea how close the property was to the road. Although not a very busy road. Otherwise a brilliant property for a holiday. Sept 2009.
  6. Very friendly and helpful owner. Good advice from him on local attractions. Accommodation very comfortable indeed, and very well furnished and supplied. May 2009.
  7. Real logs in log burner would be better than old building timbers. April 2008.
