Bembridge

Concara

| Ref: 28106
Grade 3 Star rating

This comfortable, spacious, detached holiday home is located within a sought after area, along a quiet lane only 50 yards from the village centre with its traditional shops, cafes, restaurants and church, whilst also being adjacent to pedestrian paths leading to the beach, harbour and sailing club. Dating back to the 1950s, this was formerly the owners’ family home, and therefore has retained plenty of personal touches for guests’ enjoyment including a book collection. The kitchen has a spacious feel, and is open plan to the breakfast/dining area. The large living room has a dining table, which is ideal for children to play board games or jigsaw puzzles, and the conservatory overlooks the lawned garden. The unspoilt beach is great for bathing, rock-pooling and crabbing. The beach, harbour and sailing club are a 10-minute walk away. Forelands beach (AONB) and the lifeboat station are a 30-minute walk away and Culver Down (NT) with its abundant wildlife may be reached further along the coastline. 18th-century Bembridge Windmill (NT) is a 20-minute walk. Bembridge Harbour (where the fresh daily catch of crab and lobster may be purchased) also offer good sailing and fishing. Discover the attractions including Robin Hill, Blackgang Chine and Flamingo Park. There are numerous additional places to visit such as Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, Roman Villa and museums, as well as many events and festivals throughout the year. Activities for the outdoor enthusiast include golf, watersports, walking and cycling. There are many beaches around the island, such as Ryde, Shanklin, Sandown and Ventnor with their golden sands. Enjoy cream teas in one of the thatched-rooftop villages dotted around the island or visit vineyards to sample some island wine, cider and even liqueurs! Shop and restaurant 50 yards, pub 400 yards.
