Within the Brecon Beacons National Park, these semi-detached holiday cottages within the owner’s grounds, just a mile to Talybont village with pubs, café and the Monmouthshire to Brecon Canal. There are bridle paths, footpaths and the Taff Trail within 1/4 mile, a registered cycle trail within 100 yards, and fishing and riding nearby. A breakfast hamper containing produce off the farm can be ordered before arrival for £5 per person per day. Brecon is approx 4½ miles. Hereford, Monmouth and Abergavenny are all nearby. Shops, pubs and restaurants 4½ miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with wooden floor. Beams throughout. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, both with wooden floor. Shower room with bidet and toilet. Paddle stairs to second floor: 1 twin bedroom with additional double sofa bed (for alternative sleeping), beams and sloping ceiling.

Oil central heating and solar central heating £21per week (£3 per night for short breaks). Dishwasher. Courtyard garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (3 cars).

Both properties: First £5 electricity included, remainder by £1/£2 token meter. Bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD and small library. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Shared fields and woodlands. Barbecue. Cycle store. Cycle and boot washing facilities. Private water supply. Two pets welcome (working farm/sheep country). NB: Sloping banks and farm machinery in grounds. Brook 50 yards.

  8. Peacock cottage was wonderful, situated in the Brecon National Park on a working farm. The accommodation was fitted to a high standard and the owners were very welcoming and accommodating. There were plenty of local activities which we really enjoyed. We will be returning next year. July 2011.

The outstanding views from this well equipped property and the close proximity to the farm animals made this a most enjoyable holiday.The owners are very friendly and helpful and the fresh farm produce available was a treat but the stars of the show were the peacocks strutting round from which the cottage takes it’s name. There are many walks you can do from the cottage without having to use your car and if you do want to go out in your car there are lots of attractions in the region. July 2011.
