This former detached coach house stands in its own garden and is furnished and decorated to a good standard. Warm and cosy, this cottage makes an excellent base from which to tour the northern lakes, Northumberland and Scotland. Watch the steam trains pass by at the bottom of the field on the Settle/Carlisle Railway. There are lovely walks in the area. Historic Carlisle with its superb shopping centre is 4 miles, Brampton and the World Heritage site of Hadrian’s Wall and Gretna Green are both 9 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1.5 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. Utility room. Separate toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

  5. The property was clean and comfortable, although the bed was a little too firm for us, this was a small sacrifice and was made up for by the lovely location. Large secure garden was great for the dog. A very relaxing break, would visit again. July 2011.
  6. If its peace and quiet that you are after this is the place. Lots of unspoilt countryside all with public right of way. Try the Greyhound public house at Cotehill. just over 1 mile away, dogs welcome. July 2011.
  7. We found the cottage to be just right for our needs. A secluded location, enclosed garden (for our dog) is always the most important requirement. The owners were very friendly but not instrusive. We would CERTAINLY RECOMMENED IT! June 2011.
