Property Description

Just a 10-minute walk to a deserted beach and just 1.25 miles from the village, this beautiful sea view holiday home is spacious and very tastefully decorated. All bedrooms are en-suite (some with magnificent sea views), and the large open plan kitchen/dining area and large bright living room makes it the ideal retreat for the family. The views from the house really capture the Connemara landscape of small fields, stone walls and the sea beyond. The Carraroe Peninsula is surrounded by beaches with the coral beach being the main attraction (3.5 miles). The unique 9-hole golf course at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean is only 15 minutes away. Access to the Aran Islands by sea and by air is also within driving distance. Shops, traditional pubs and restaurants 2 miles.

Ground floor: Living room with French doors and wooden floor. Dining room/kitchen with tiled floor. Utility room. 1 double (6ft) bedroom (zip and link, can be twin) with en-suite shower room and toilet. Separate toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 2 double, one (5ft) with en-suite bathroom with corner bath, shower cubicle and toilet, one with Velux and en-suite shower room with toilet, 1 twin with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Open fire in living room (no fuel provided). Oil central heating (payable locally). Electricity by meter reading. Bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. Cable TV. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Lawned and gravelled garden with furniture. Barbecue. Ample parking. No smoking.

A very comfortable and beautiful house (even nicer than the photographs on the website!) it should be said on the website that electricity and water are to be paid at the end of the stay (not very expensive, depending on the weather - we paid about 30€ for a week for 8 persons in June). We all enjoyed our stay very much and we all found the house was really fantastic! Don’t hesitate if you need a house for 8!! June 2012.

  3. The cottage was beautiful - pity we had to leave it behind. The location of the cottage was fantastic with a different view from every window. Driving around Connemara is stunning with scenery ranging from flat barren limestone one minute to lakes and mountains around the next corner. Three adult generations of the same family (aged 22-80) went and after a dreadful year of tragedy and trauma it was just the stress relief we all needed. Feb 2012.
