Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Very comfortable cottage in the heart of the village with great places to eat all around. Everybody made us very welcome along with our dog. We will be visiting again soon. June 2012.
  2. Lovely flat in an excellent location. felt like a country cottage, warm and cosy. Friendly village and dog friendly pubs. Race course provides nice walks and handy parking, very close to the flat with the free parking pass. Only 6 miles from lake Windermere. April 2012.
  3. A lovely property with a cosy feel. Remote enough to serve as a getaway, but with great amenities (pub, bakery, deli) very close by. Perfect for a romantic break. Dec 2011.
  4. The accomodation was fantastic, excellent location, really well equiped. Bed a little harder than we would have liked but we will be booking up to go again! Nov 2011.
  5. Me and my fiancée thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we loved the Churchtown House! The flat was fabulous, we loved the real fire. We also loved the village of Cartmel where the flat was, everything that we needed was right on the door stop. A few really nice pubs that served lovely food, a couple of coffee shops that served lovely cakes and a few really nice shops. There is also so much to do in the surrounding areas, we wish that we had stayed longer than 3 nights. We will defiantly be returning back to the TownHouse next year. Sept 2011.
  6. A very comfortable flat, very well equipped and spotless. Better use could perhaps be made of the cobbled courtyard. Only minor problem sometimes was parking, although there was always alternative parking 200 yards away. June 2011.
  7. Very central in Cartmel, lovely village. Really enjoyed time there. Parking outside the house did not prove to be a problem - we only had to use the racecourse car park once. Excellent idea to include a parking permit in the rental. No hassle with chasing the key when we arrived as the owner posted it to us a few days before we went. Lots of supplies available in the kitchen - very thoughtful. Rogan and Company (sibling of L’Enclume) is excellent. May 2011.
  8. Churchtown House is absolutely perfect for a holiday. You can venture during the day to Lake Windermere and many other places of interest and at night you can relax in the square with a great choice of eating/drinking places and lovely walks. We have eaten in the Royal Oak which was very good value. For a special treat we went to Rogan’s Bistro which was excellent. The staff are particularly welcoming. All in all a lovely place and the people are very friendly wherever you go. Grange over Sands is a lovely town with a great variety of shops. No big supermarkets, macdonalds or pound shops which is a bonus!!! May 2011.
  9. The property was cosy and characterful in a charming village setting. Feb 2011.
  10. It was larger than expected. Nov 2010.
  11. Like a home from home, clean and tidy, even the lights were on for our arrival. Excellent location for L’enclume and Rogan and Co - both excellent restaurants (book early for l’enclume). Nov 2010.
  12. Cosy and comfortable, beautifully modernised but retaining original character. Lots of little extras, toiletries, tissues, etc. which were much appreciated. Coal and log fire were a bonus, living as we do in a smoke-free zone. Sept 2010.
  13. Clean, well appointed and furnished in a manner to complement the age (approx 400years) and location. Sept 2001.
  14. The accommodation in the priory cartmel was lovely we had a fantastic weekend. June 2010.
  15. The property was clean every thing we needed was at hand and the open fire was very cosy the property was handy for the pubs that served very good food if did not want to cook. June 2010.
  16. Nice and spacious for two people. May 2010.
  17. Location was fantastic right in centre of Cartmel. The accommodation was very clean and we were touched by the tea tray and biscuits and the milk in the fridge. Very thoughtful. There was plenty of fuel for the open fire too. It was obvious that the owners personally look after the accommodation and really care about their guest. April 2010.
  18. Second time staying at Churchtown House. First time on first floor, this time ground floor. Absolutely perfect accommodation. Lovely place perfect for travelling round Lake District. April 2010.
  19. Well situated in a delightful village. March 2010.
  20. The property was well furnished and tastefully decorated. It was cosy and relaxing. Oct 2009.
