Attractively refurbished to the E.T.C. ‘4 Star’ standard, it enjoys its own south-facing garden. For days out, Bury St Edmunds (12 miles) offers good shops, an art gallery, and lovely river walks in the Abbey Gardens. Ely (19 miles), one-time home of Oliver Cromwell, boasts a magnificent cathedral, its Octagon tower visible for miles around. Top class horse racing at Newmarket 15 miles. North Norfolk coast within an hour. Riding, tennis and golf locally. Shop 3 miles.

  5. As a group of Australians and New Zealanders, the idea of statying in a thatched cottage was an experience we wanted. This cottage shone in every way, with the lowered roof and make up of the rooms, the availablity to games and easy access to nearby towns. It was everything we wanted and more.   7. The property was warm, clean and comfortable. We would have preferred to be in a village with a shop, missed walking to get the morning paper. The cottage wouldn’t be suitable for someone who struggled using stairs. I used to come down them backwards to avoid banging my head on the low ceiling. The cottage was very attractive though. Loved the thatch and the setting. The wildlife in the garden, especially the birds, was lovely to watch. Also, having Wi-Fi was a bonus. Would consider using this property again in a few years time.   8. The cottage is located in a quiet location. Facilities are very good. Bedroom ceilings are very low. Very good Pub, which serves food, 200 Yds away. A chance to have a drink without having to drive. March 2012.

  10. My family and I have been coming to Church Cottage for many years. We have enjoyed our stays and the cottage has always been clean, well presented and welcoming. Church Cottage is owned by the Elveden Estate, they have an excellent place to visit along the A11 towards Thetford. Gift/Food shops and an excellent restaurant, where the food cannot be faulted. Would thoroughly recommend it. Aug 2011.
