Property Description

A small and cosy holiday cottage of considerable charm and character, situated in a desirable location, on a small cobbled path just off main street of the popular village and coastal area of Hartland. The dramatic heritage coastline of Hartland, with quay and abbey are within 1 mile, a footpath close to the property makes a delightful walk. Westward Ho!, Bude and Exmoor are within an easy drive, whilst Clovelly and Bucks Mills can be reached by footpath for the more energetic. Village amenities consist of shops, post office, a choice of three character pubs, café and a fish and chip shop.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. Narrow stairs to first floor: 2 double bedrooms, one with single bunk above. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living room (no fuel provided). NSH, electricity and bed linen included. Travel cot. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Small enclosed patio/terrace.

Really nice little cottage in quiet but friendly AND dog friendly village, patio garden does not access from the cottage, you have to go out of the front door and through a side gate, so you have to stand out with dogs whatever the weather, didn’t bother us as we had nice weather and our dogs are pretty well behaved and don’t run off, but it would be better if people with dogs were aware of the set up. Sept 2012.

  3. The cottage is in an excellent location in the heart of the village. Whilst the cottage had everything we needed the standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and bathroom were below standard. We had to clean out the fridge before use. The chip shop in the village was excellent as was the food at The Hart Inn. We were made to feel welcome in all 3 pubs. Ideal location for walking with an off road route starting right outside the front door. Jan 2012.
  4. The property is small and cosy and a good base to explore the surrounding areas. There is a pub in the village called the Hart Inn which serves excellent food. June 2011.
  5. Nice cosy cottage in a good village location good for walks, coastal scenary. March 2011.
  6. Small cottage ideal for a couple with a small dog. Setting was brilliant, plenty walking from the door. The best thing was the village, everything you would need, 3 excellent pubs which serviced very good home cooked food, some where dog friendly also. Post Office and three other general stores open long hours, best of all was the wonderful fish and chip shop, one of the best chippies ever as well as fair prices. Dec 2010.

  8. Well equipped cottage close to local amenities. The staff at pubs and shops very friendly. The owner provided milk, tea and coffee and was available if we encountered problems. She was not needed during our stay. March 2010.
  9. Good location and reasonably comfortable, well-equipped kitchen. Side garden was a bit disappointing as you have to exit the front of the property to get to it, so not very "owner" friendly first thing in the morning. The doors are extremely low!! July 2009.

If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately..
