Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Although the location is not brilliant, it is only a 30 minute drive to the heart of the lakes. However, the house itself was excellent, as was the welcome we received. There were nice touches, such as a couple of bottles of wine, flowers, and chocolate left by the owners. The house was always warm, both in temperature and character. The fact that it was meant to accommodate 12 people, (which it did, very well), meant that the presence of a dishwasher was greatly appreciated, and there was an abundance of pots, pans, dishes, plates and utensils. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, and truly felt that, at the end of the day, we were ’coming home’. We would certainly stay there again. Oct 2011.
  2. Spacious yet cosy with plenty of room for 11 adults, 1 toddler and a 4yr old and 3 dogs. Local pub very friendly and welcoming, lovely scenery although if hedges trimmed would’ve been even better. Good location to be used as a base for Whitehaven, Carlisle and Ennerdale a real treat! July 2011.
  3. The place was lovely and we were left to enjoy. The little touches such as flowers and chocs made us feel very special. We would definitely go again. June 2011.
  4. A very comfortable property for a large group. The two lounges, kitchen, and dining room, provide plenty of spaces for separate activities. The 2nd floor bedrooms are ideal for children (the sloping roof may be awkward for tall adults). May 2011.
  5. Great place with lots of rooms and space, plenty of kitchen equipment, two lounges allowed a kids room and an adults room. Fantastic views across the countryside. On arrival we found flowers, fruit, wine and chocolates which was a really nice welcome after a long drive. April 2011.
  6. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Chapel House. April 2011.
  7. Spacious, comfortable, plenty of bathrooms, washer and drier available, dishwasher, garden, good location. Easier to write what we didn’t like - nothing! Oct 2010.
  8. Very clean, well set out and large accommodation. Also large parking area that took all our 4 cars and our trailer. August 2010.
  9. Good space. Decoration a bit dated but fine. Not far from lakes. May 2010.
  10. Well appointed property, though the downstairs rooms were a little dark. Aug 2009.
  11. Very well equipped and arranged. July 2009.
  12. A very caring touch by the owner who left flowers, fruit, a bottle of wine and chocolates for the children on our arrival. Much appreciated. June 2009.
  13. All necessary amenities available as well as space to enable so many people to feel free. A welcome garden/grass area for children to play and good views. June 2009.
  14. Provided on arrival were two bottles of wine, an abundant supply of fruit and chocolate bars. The owner was there when we arrived, quickly explained heating etc and then left. This was excellent. There are less and less properties available in this part of Cumbria. Sept 2008.
  15. For a longer stay, it would be helpful to have some shelving in a couple of the bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to go back. March 2007.
  16. Ideally situated for reaching most parts of the Lakes. We were all extremely grateful for the "Welcome pack" provided by the owner. Lovely building and were curious about its history. July 2007.
  17. Lovely welcoming gifts (wine, chocolates and flowers). Local pub (The Miners Arms) and post office, very friendly and helpful people. Home from home. Sept 2007.
