Property Description

This beautifully presented holiday property, one of a pair, dates back to the 17th century and has been sympathetically extended, styled and comfortably furnished, offering many feaures such as flagstone flooring, beams, large sleigh bed in master bedroom and inglenook housing an effective electric ‘woodburner’ in the main living room. There is an additional reception/family room with sliding doors onto a large enclosed lawned garden and sitting out area. This charming home also enjoys superb views across open countryside and fields to the front and rear. Located along a quiet lane, it is only 15 minutes’ walk (or less than 5 minutes’ drive) from the popular West Wittering beach, as well as the delightful village with local shops, café, pubs and green which are all within a conservation area. Chichester Harbour offers boat trips around the coastline/harbour, and Pagham Nature Reserve close by is a haven for observing wildlife and birdwatching. A short drive away is historic Chichester with its ornate cathedral, festival theatre, pedestrianised cobbled lanes, cinema/leisure complex, tea rooms and restaurants. Slightly further is Goodwood, famous for horse racing and motor racing. Fontwell races, Weald and Downland open museum and Roman Palace are also within easy reach. Discover scenic walks along the nearby South Downs, now a National Park, and enjoy golf, horse riding, cycling, fishing and sailing. Also within easy reach are Arundel with its famous castle, Wildfowl and Wetlands reserve, and slightly further bustling Brighton with its cosmopolitan feel, The Royal Pavilion, sealife centre, pier and seaside activities. Worthing and The New Forest are also within easy driving distance, as well as Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, waterside dining and designer shopping outlets. Shop and pub 1 mile.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Chapel Elms is an excellent property which is very well maintained by the owners. It is in a quiet location but with very good access to beaches and also to Chichester. We chose the property to go to the Revival Meeting at Goodwood and it was so convenient that we have already booked up for 2013 to include attending the Beaulieu Autojumble on the proceeding weekend. The open garage (not mentioned on the prospectus) was perfect for housing my elderly car! I would strongly recommend this property - lots of room, lovely garden and great location. This is the best property we have rented through your company but please do not encourage any of your other clients to book for the Goodwood weekend in years to come! Sept 2012.
  2. Perfect for families - about 1 mile from West whittering beach. Great for cycling. May 2012.
  3. This is an attractive, comfortable property in a very good location. We were a party of five ranging from ages 19 to 86 (plus one dog) and the accommodation was perfect for us. The wonderful West Wittering National Trust beach is close by and there are pleasant rural walks from the door step. We also enjoyed trips out to Chichester, Portsmouth and Brighton. Thoroughly recommended. March 2012.
  4. Lovely house, we enjoyed beautiful weather (even though beginning of October!) Enjoyed eating and sitting out in the garden and bouncing on the trampoline. House was very comfortable with everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Sept 2011.
  5. Wonderful little find, we had a wonderful time in a gorgeous little house. We all want to live there! May 2011.
